Connor and Kaylee
Waking slowly, Connor was perplexed a moment by the feeling of a soft bed beneath him, something he hadn’t felt in a few months. What was more, rather than a sleeping bag, he had a blanket over him. And a girl in his arms. All in all, it served to keep him confused for a few moment, before his tired brain booted up, and made sense of things. Warm, and content, it may have taken a few moments longer than normal to do so, but his body… his instincts, recognised Kaylee for what she was. Mate. He shifted slightly, his arms curling tighter around her, and he inhaled her scent, letting it fill him completely. Mine. The feel of her in his arms, like two pieces of a puzzle joining together, made the sense of completeness overwhelming, and he sighed softly, trying not to wake her. He took the chance to study her, to fill his mind with everything about her, storing it away. And then his mind started to work… and he recalled that they were at her home… and that meant her parents, and her brother were there too. Connor didn’t have much experience with that sort of thing. Who was he kidding; any experience. Just what was he meant to do? Pushing those slightly terrifying thoughts out of his mind, he looked down to Kaylee, and knew that he would do anything for her. Even facing a protective family. For her, he could do it. She was his everything, and that was that. “Kaylee…” He whispered, his voice seeming to carry everything he wanted to say, even if he didn’t want to wake her. That voice… a content sigh falling out through her lips as she began to stir back to life, Kaylee let herself fall further into the warmth and safety of the embrace she felt wrapped around her. So it wasn’t a dream… it had been real; all of it had been real. The attack, losing control, the hospital-... Connor… Shifting slightly against his body, she slowly began to open her eyes, allowing herself a moment to adjust to the light filling her bedroom before she lifted her head up, her soft pink lips parting ever so slightly as she met with his gaze, her heart seeming to skip a beat the very moment that she laid eyes upon him. He was here. He was laying right beside her, holding her tightly, and the look in his eyes told her that he wasn’t about to let go anytime soon. The very thought had her cheeks flushing a light shade of red, and with it, everything in the world felt right again, “..heh… good morning, Connor…” A slow smile spread across Connor’s face, as their gazes met, a sense of… rightness filling him. He doubted he could truly explain what he was feeling. It simply… was… like nothing he had ever felt. “Good morning, Kaylee.” he responded softly, and shifted slightly, to kiss her lightly. It did not even occur to him that not even a week ago, the idea of being in this situation, in bed with a girl, would have been… well, non-existent. He pulled back after a moment, “I could get used to waking up like this.” he thought to himself, and it took a second or two to realise he had actually said it outloud, and he bowed his head slightly, sure he was blushing. Lifting her hand up from where it had been resting lightly over his chest, she gently caressed his cheek, her touch lightly as she urged him to lift his head so that she could once more meet with his eyes… his beautiful, beautiful eyes… damn she was never going to be able to get used to this; the way he made her heart leap, race, stop. It was all so confusing, but then, there was nothing else this world could offer that would make her give any of it up. “I could get used to it too.” Connor didn't look away, smiling once more, he paused a moment, trying to hear if there were any other sounds in the house, but he couldn't seem to focus on anything else, other than Kaylee. And the worry that someone might come in was a small one, soon forgotten. “Kaylee...I don't really understand everything that's going on, but… I'm glad… to be here, with you.” Was that a little cheesy? Connor didn't know, nor did he find himself caring about it. “I don't suppose we can just stay in here all day?” he asked, not truly serious about it, although it was a rather pleasant idea. “I wish; but the later it gets, the more likely it’ll be that my parent’s will come knocking on the door telling us to get up.” Chuckling softly at the thought, Kaylee continued to hold his gaze, the pad of her thumb brushing lightly back and forth over the skin just under his eye, “..you’re not exactly thrilled at the thought of meeting them are you..?” Connor took a moment before answering, “Well. Not exactly. I've… never really been in any sort of situation that involved meeting someone else's family. It's… a little daunting, really. Especially… with everything else...” he said, then sighed softly, “Although I suppose going to them is better then them coming to us.” he amended thoughtfully, “Uh, should I know anything?” His question had her mind sorting through everything that she knew about her parents; they were good people. Humans by choice, but ones who knew enough about the supernatural world that they were prepared enough to keep her, and her older brother safe from the dangers that their world posed. “..nothing major; or at least nothing that I can really think about right now. I mean, the both of them are human, but that’s about it. Other than that; I know they’re going to love you, Connor… just like I do...” Connor bowed his head, and kissed her again, pulling back after a time, “Well then, I can do this.” he said softly. He'd give Kaylee anything she wanted or needed, without any scrupulous about it. He smiled, then realized something else. While Connor had clothes that were his, they were back at his campsite. While the clothes he had borrowed should be alright, he didn't exactly think they'd be suitable for long. Suddenly meeting Kaylee's family didn't seem like a big thing, when compared to going back into the woods, know that he knew what he did. “Should we… head out?” He asked softly. Unable to help the way that her lips turned up in a gentle smile, Kaylee shifted her body against his, her arms folding lightly over one another as she leant over his chest, her dark eyes sparkling lightly as she gazed up at him, her soft pink lips parting ever so slightly with the action. Okay… so moving had definitely not been a bad idea. It had led her to him; to Connor… to her true mate… She’d spent a good majority of her life with the mindset that she wasn’t going to find someone that she would want to spend the rest of her life with this badly… sure, she’d had boyfriends before; but nothing… nothing compared to this. “..we can; but maybe we should get you some new clothes to wear… you seem to be about the same size as my brother.” Pausing a moment, Kaylee allowed herself to get lost within his eyes… those beautiful eyes that she knew, now and forever, would always be able to make her heart race, “..but that’s only if you want to… honestly, I’m perfectly fine spending the rest of the day like this…” Connor shifted with Kaylee, to keep his arms around her, taking in her words. He paused a moment, thoughtful, but really, how long could they think to stay there, without being interrupted? He imagined family members wouldn’t take it well to find a stranger in her room. He gave a small sigh and shook his head, “Can’t hide away forever...no matter how much I want to” He said, although he made no move to actually move, finding himself unwilling to disturb either of them from this...well, peace. Once again he was right; it didn’t matter how much they wanted to hide away from the world, sooner or later they were going to have to surface eventually. Lowering her gaze at the mere thought, Kaylee let her gaze linger upon his lips, a small smile playing over her own before she leant forward, no sign of hesitation in her actions as she pressed her lips gently… lovingly against his own. She could do this all day long- stay like this forever… wrapped up in his arms, and held close against his body the way that she was. Was there anything more perfect than this..? Reluctantly pulling away after what felt like a lifetime, she sighed softly, the gentle beating of his heart more than enough to help keep her calm… relaxed in the peace that the morning brought to them, her voice soft, though her Australian accent clear enough as she spoke, “..then I guess I should get up… go grab you something to wear…” It seemed more then natural to return the kiss, and he responded willingly. He didn’t know if you could survive on kisses, but it didn’t seem to be a bad way to go. When she pulled away, Conor regretted it, but agreed, “Yeah…” He said softly, and reluctantly let his grip on her lessen, almost feeling her absence already. Perhaps if there wasn’t things they had to do...it would be easy to just stay there. Anywhere, with Kaylee. “I’ll just..wait for you” She didn’t want to go… but she knew that she didn’t have a choice. They had things that needed to be done, and though when she was with him at times their names seemed elude her, she knew that one of those things was checking to see if the others were alright. Of everyone involved in the attack the night before; she was the senior… the one who had the more experience, at least, she had a feeling she was. Connor was amazing, and seemed to have a great amount of control over what he really was; but until they had time so talk about it… to discuss everything between them, there was just no way of knowing, not that it really mattered. Slipping away from him completely, Kaylee turned, her feet hitting the ground as she sat up on the edge of the bed. There was a lot they needed to do… a lot they needed to speak about; but first and foremost, the most important thing on the list was their biggest of challenges: meeting her parents. Lifting herself up from where she had been sat, she brought a hand up, her fingers disappearing as she ran them back through her long and wavy dark locks, pushing them back and off her face though it didn’t seem to help much. Casting a quick glance about the room, she moved forward, reaching out and picking up her clothes, pulling them onto her body until she was completely dressed, her gaze flicking over to him as she wrapped her scarf around her neck. “I’ll be back in a minute; don’t go running off on me, okay..?” Winking playfully in his direction, she couldn’t help but smile, a gentle blush crossing over her cheeks as she hovered a moment longer, eventually turning to leave the room in search of clothes that he could wear for the day. Connor watched her slip away, letting his touch linger until she moved to far away, sighing softly. He watched her, unable to help himself. It didn't seem like it was a big deal, anymore. He smiled, watching her try to brush her hair back, unable to help the chuckle that escaped him. He sat up, not taking his eyes of her. He chuckled again, “I won’t” He wanted to go over to her, to take her him his arms again, but he resisted. Watching her go, he sighed, running a hand through his hair, and laying back. There was so much that had happened, that Connor wasn’t sure his mind would ever make sense of it, yet everything just seemed natural around Kaylee. As he waited for her to return, Connor closed his eyes, letting his thoughts run rampant. After what seemed like a lifetime, Kaylee returned back to her room, her free hand reaching out to push on the door, opening it just enough to let herself slip through before it once more closed behind her with a soft ‘thud’ before she moved to once more sit on the edge of the bed, a small smile playing over her soft pink lips as she placed the pile of clothes down on her lap, her hand reaching out to gently take hold of his, “I’m back; I hope these fit you alright.” His eyes opened as he heard the door open, he looked to Kaylee, he watched her come back over to the bed, and when she took his hand, he squeezed hers in return, “I’m sure they will be fine” He said softly, “As long as I can get away without being charged for exposure, I can get my truck” He said, giving her a smile, before rising, squeezing her hand again, and then grabbing the clothes, he quickly dressed, although he soon regretted that as he realised there was nothing standing in the way of leaving her room now. He hesitated a moment, looking to Kaylee, “So...I guess that’s it...no choice but to head out now” Lifting her gaze up to meet with his, she nodded her head lightly, giving him the answer that unfortunately, she knew he didn’t want to hear, her hand reaching up to neatly tuck some of her hair back behind her ear, her smile and the look behind her eyes a little sad as she kept her eyes locked with his, her hands both reaching out to take ahold of his own, using his help to once more return to her feet, “..we’re were-beasts; fearless, strong and proud, remember..? If we can handle the full moon, I’m sure we can handle my parents…” Connor gave a chuckle, helping her to her feet, before hugging her once more, wondering for a fraction of a second if you could really call it handling it. Connor didn’t remember much of the previous full moon, and last night...he’d simply acted. “Well. If you are with me, I can handle it” He said, yet still took another moment or two, before he pulled away, taking her hand in his, he turned to the door, starting to head out.
