The magical community of the United Kingdom has slowly recovered, going through a period of exponential growth and recovery to account for lost time. One of the areas deemed most critical for recovery is the Ministry of Magic, and specifically, its departments which keep the wizarding world both safe, and hidden. The Auror Office is among them, still recruiting only the best young wizards in their field, the added incentives of recent times, and an active recruitment drive, has resulted in a fine crop of new recruits. Soon, these fresh agents will have to face the challenges of those selected to defend their fellow wizards and witches from the worst the world has to offer. This is where you come in, a newly trained Auror. The best and brightest of your peers in combating the threats to the Wizarding World, the dark arts, that some many still fear in these days of rebuilding. Drawn in by stories of the war, by a sense of duty, or by something more personal, you find yourself at the beginning of what is hopefully a long and successful career in defending the Ministry and the people it governs. As with many stories, and many paths, it begins with just a routine mission; Players will take on the role of recently graduated Aurors in the present day, still very much in the aftermath of the Second Wizarding War, canon characters may feature as NPCs, helping to drive the plot, but the roleplay is principally about the player characters, set after the events of the book, but prior to the next generation of Potters/Weasleys etc. This will be a mature RP set in the Wizarding World, darker, and dealing with arguably more complex themes then the novels. Players should be expected to deal with such adult themes. Overall, we're looking for a medium sized group of people, enough to have close familiar bonds, while still presenting some variety. IC Rules/Setting Guide -Original characters only. -Players are all part of the same 'graduating' class of Auror trainees, and have yet to be involved in their first major case or task. -Auror training takes three years, and as stated, PCs have just reached the end of that. -Players can be graduates of any wizarding school from any nation, but everyone is a part of the UK's Ministry of Magic Auror Office. -While the Second Wizarding War finished decades past, the effects are still present, the Wizarding population is low, if rapidly recovering, and anti-muggle/muggle-born sentiment is frowned upon, openly, at least. OOC Rules -The Standard of the RP is generally high-casual. There's no set length specified that I would expect posts to be, but I do expect them to engage well with the scene and/or other players. -Due to the darker tone of the RP, I'd expect most players to be fairly mature, at the rp comes with a 16+ age rating. That's not a hard rule, but don't expect the tone of the books. -Character sheets should be posted in the OOC, then when they are accepted, put into the character tab. -Have fun!
