Next time, if you don't really have any intention of staying on, don't make a big deal about trying to continue.  Just as with Abyssal, it's less of a nuisance for the people you're dealing with if you be up front about your disinterest.

You've been free of finals for three days.  So, in the interest of fairness, your probation begins now with one condition: I want you to use that free time to both start and finish your NPC battle if you have any intention of staying on.  It doesn't have to be some seven-page extravaganza, either.  I just want you caught up, basically.
