Emma's face brightened a little as her tulpas began to dispatch the canines. She wouldn't admit it, but it felt good. Really good, in fact. For the first time in nearly a week her stigma was being sated, the internal voice no longer taunting at the back of her head. She almost forgot how dangerous their situation was, the effect of the violence coming in like some sort of high. Her attention was brought back to the fight before her when Angel's scream destroyed her tulpas- Emma gritted her teeth, turning towards their would-be leader with a hint of anger in her eyes. She opened her mouth to yell at her, but quickly turned away. What am I doing? She shook her head. The lack of stigma was affecting her almost as much as having it did, she decided. She took a breath before willing herself to focus. The dust that Hazel had kicked up stung Emma's eyes, making her painfully aware of the fact that it was becoming very difficult to see the battle around them. Brent's voice crackled through her phone, quickly confirming that they needed to do something about the lessening visibility. Emma desperately tried to think up a solution involving her tulpas, but her brain failed her. Either way it didn't matter, Angel was quicker on the draw- someone else that would be better suited to Emma's power than she was. Ernie's voice came after Brent's, confirming that there was a subnatural threat on the battlefield. Emma's blood ran cold- she'd told her team that she was ready to kill if she had to, but she wasn't sure if that was a lie or not. Perhaps she was lying to herself too. Up until a week ago she'd never even seen someone die, let alone thought about murder. Her hand wrapped around the hilt of the knife that Kardos had given them... was she ready to use it? She didn't have time to worry about it. Not now. Determination appeared beside the pair in the frontline, "Protect Angel and Hazel!" for now, she decided, she would save the others for the appearance of their supposed subnatural enemy.
