If you said, "Mobas" I could answer with a little more clarity. But League of Legends? Specifically, honestly compared to almost any other MOBA it completes with. That would be a good question, because in my opinion aside from sheer amount/excess (and the cost that excess makes you suffer through.) it's inferior to most other experiences. 

But. Things get popular for a reason, so maybe the answer I have. It's the most simplified/streamlined MOBA experience you could have. It's just easy to play, it's free to play and it's a team game that doesn't require as much time as an MMO. In fact a lot of sessions are quicker than most games. But you can also be good enough to carry a game yourself and it's not entirely team reliant. It's a unique experience for those who haven't played it. And gamers can enjoy themselves a unique experience. They also have some interesting character designs and some people can maybe enjoy the varied art style that it has.

Kids need games too ya know? :/
