Hazel Baker
It was a bit surprising — but extremely gratifying — to have that wide sweep actually hitting anything, but it was even more surprising to have a sudden shockwave blasting her off her perch. It was enough to knock most of her growing bloodlust out of her and replace it with surprise. She fell some distance away from the group, landing on her side before rolling to a stop. It was fortunate then, that her concentration was broken from that sudden impact of the shockwave hitting her perch; had she landed on her arms when it was translucent, she would, perhaps, had broken something, or even tore off a limb. Grunting, Hazel raised herself off the ground, oblivious to the orders Angel had barked out from the landing and slight feeling of disorientation that came after. It was perhaps excusable that she froze for a moment upon seeing those high flying spiders, bringing down a large net upon their group. Hazel was sure she could protect herself if she rolled on her back and just projected her palms out above her, but the others will not be so lucky, nor will they have enough time to go under her cover. She could possibly destroy the web enough to render it useless, or at least not as effective, but that required her to shift her position from lying on the ground to one where she could use both her hands, taking precious time she might not have. Unfortunate casualties." you aint that kinda gal "The mission comes first. Your safety comes first." what would she say Perhaps there was a better way. Perhaps there was something she missed, something that could simultaneously protect them from being caught under a net as well as the attacks from the approaching clockwork monsters. Pushing those whispers out of her head, Hazel acted without thinking, first projecting a large arm to sweep everyone near her away from the danger, before sitting up and projecting a large hand, grasping for the web coming overhead.
