[@Kiwiwiwi] Not quite. Combat training has multiple facets- regular hand-to-hand and weaponry combat (shooting, building up muscles, generaly learning how to fight like a human), and then incorporating magic into fighting. The mages in this world don't stand while firing magic, and tend to dodge and run around in order to avoid the opponent's attacks, while firing their own. Does that make any sense?

Also, to everyone, if you're intending to take a professor, keep in mind that Professors will be teaching two classes. There will be ten professors in all. A few writers have contacted me privately on the matter of instructors as well, and currently the classes with dibs on them are:

Pyromancy/Magical Theory 
Cryomancy
Runes
Magical Weaponry/Magic History
Aeromancy/Combat
Defense/Tracking

The remaining classes are Shadow Step, Familiar Conjuration, Illumination, Necromancy, Healing, Terramancy, Blood Magic, Toxins, and Levitation. :)
