You know, thats a good question. Will they ever introduce a male gem? I don't think so tbh, as it seems Gems haven't evolved in awhile according to the show, and you need males/multiple genders to evolve. Sure you can do creative evolution instead of natural selection, but the latter leads to random mutations that no one could forsee as beneficial.
