[@Aiyanna] Nope. The war started roughly seventeen years ago and was three years long, give or take some time. All war vets are in their thirties or older by now, and any children born during the war would have been too young to remember it. The war itself has long been won. :)
As for a "league of bad guys", if you mean the cult, then they've been defeated- most of their members either dead or in mage prison. For that three years, that was the biggest problem that the mages had to face.
If you're asking about what's causing the disappearances, then...well, you'll have to find out. ;)
