I think I've settled on Zeke having a variant of [url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosopagnosia]prosopagnosia[/URL], also known as face blindness. He can see colour and detail really well, but faces seem to slip his mind easily without a reference. Hence he's taking photos of people he needs or wants to remember.
