Full Name: Percival Rowan Pelacour Nicknames/Aliases: Percy Age: 17 Gender: Male Primary: Defense Student Secondaries of Interest: Illumination, Healing Description: Clocking in at an even 6’2”, Percival is easily one of the more eye-catching students attending Marchand. Vibrant blue eyes, a bird’s nest of copper hair, and a smile one could quite aptly surprise as a “shit-eating grin” during his better days, it’s not uncommon for the boy to seem like he’s up to something even when he’s innocent. Percival tends to dress himself in a canary yellow coat (or other, similar articles if the coat is unavailable, with his second favorite being a bright blue jacket with a star on the front pocket). While Percival can speak perfect English, he can also speak French, and will occasionally affect a rather hammy French accent as a joke. Personality: Percival is, put simply, quite the personality. Vibrant and boisterous, the Pelacour son holds little of the pleasant, well-collected air that defined previous members of the lineage. That isn’t to say that he isn’t friendly- in fact, Percy is quite happy to befriend anyone with a thick enough skin for his taste in jokes, or even someone able to throw banter back at him- but that he’s much more bold in action and nature. Percival doesn’t take himself too seriously for the most part, and is somewhat of a prankster. This leads him acting on his whims, having a flair for the dramatic, and having a sense of humor that some might find either lighthearted or grating. With that said, however, it is very much possible for him to be pulled back to earth, should a situation become dire or important enough for him to focus- although, in such situations, Percival would most likely give attempts to lighten the mood if possible. Skills: - As a child of the Pelacour family, Percival has a natural predisposition to forming shields and general protections for himself and others. He is also more inclined towards Healing as a result, as well. - Carries an amount of influence as the son of a Council Member. - Is a very good baker, although this has little use within the school. Weaknesses: - Due to his temperament, Percival’s attention has a tendency to drift, causing him to become distracted or lose focus if a topic comes up that he lacks interest in. - While he has strength in shield-making, Percy lacks skill in forming proper negation fields. This tends to annoy him somewhat. Brief History: The Pelacour line first officially came into prominence in 12th century France, when Saint Louis was still merrily swinging the hammer down on crime and sin. They initially served as knights for the monarchy, and while they eventually left the position, the idea of chivalry and honor stuck with them long after, influencing the line as it is known today. The Pelacours took to a more peaceful approach than that of their combat-driven forefathers, earning their profit through the various doctors, surgeons and the like that sprung up from the lines. They extended their hand towards other, struggling lines, and, through their diplomacy and unwillingness to feud, gradually earned a name for themselves. What sort of name, however, depends on whoever brings them up. The introduction of the Pelacour bloodline to the Council is a fairly recent development, when compared to seats that have been held for countless generations by the same names. After the Kingsleys stepped down from the role, the Pelacours were recommended, and eventually made a claim to the Seat of Defense. As a result of their novice status within the Council, the Pelacours have made a special effort to reinforce their hold through good manners and a drive to do their fair part in work. Which makes the youngest generation of the family even more brow-raising. Percival was the second child of Soren Pelacour and Rita Elston- the first being Indigo, who had been born a few years before. The two quickly became inseparable, and, much to the surprise (and partial dismay) of their parents, increasingly rowdy as they grew. Even in the face of tutoring and the various formal gatherings they were made to attend, both have kept far from the mellow nature of the line- something not helped by the absence brought on by their parents’ responsibilities. Nevertheless, the family has managed to keep a decent relationship throughout the years. When it was announced that Percival would be sent to Marchand, it came as a pleasant surprise- while he was somewhat grudging about losing the indulgences his home life provided, he is also quite interested in the new freedoms that come with attending the school by himself. Other: - Enjoys casual betting, and has a grocer’s list of bets currently ongoing between him and his sister. - Holds a strong dislike for limes and anything lime flavored.
