Okay, so long time since I've set up an RP, but the premise is simple. Lots of Nazis, lots of gold, lots of backstabbing and very few fucks left to give. Think Raid meets Kelly's Heroes meets Inglorious Bastards meets The Dirty Dozen, with a distinct bastardry attached to it.... This is an RP that sets itself in the backdrop of the Second World War, and will play in that time period throughout, and if it goes on long enough, even beyond. The key premise is that your character isn't just driven by fighting for a cause, or wanting to save the world from oppression. It's all about stealing loads of fucking money while doing it. Your character is an intelligence operative, hired by SOE, OSS, the NKVD, even the SS or Axis inteligence services, of the double agent variety, or deep undercover within Axis territory. Of course, there is more to this than meets the eye- they have a unique set of skills, be it weapons, coercion and cunning, fear tactics, they are definitely not orthodox. They range from femme fatales, to vicious Nazi-hunting psychopaths, to suave and charasmatic characters. Or all three. Your character is certainly someone who does have one thing on their mind. There is a lot of money that is being dealt with. And that is for the stealing, for personal gain...or not? Even if they don't, they know this is the best way to sabotage the Germans when put into the situation here. Even if they're German themselves, they may be seeing this as a form of resistance, and get involved. There's some morality there- choosing to be involved with the personal stakes, or not. ----------------------------- This RP is going to probably not dwell massively on historical events albeit set within them (note- this means it'll probably mean we don't change the course of the war itself, but exist as characters who may influence the way the tide ends up going), and is a portmanteau of classic WW2 heisty films and some more modern takes. It's going to be morally questionable, and I'm not going to glaze over the fact that if you're allergic to people getting shot in the fucking head, you shouldn't be here. There's gonna be controversial material here, given the nature of any RP that involves Nazis, gold, and people involved in that. --------- The RP is starts in December 1943, and starts in the foothills of the Alps in Bavaria, at a very lovely beerhall. Your character has been called about, or heard about a British double-agent, Robert Fitzroy. He has put out the feelers indirectly and found a group of individuals (you) who are interested in an intelligence operation. Some have been sent directly from the Allies. Others are already in theatre. Either way, Fitzroy has you there. Fitzroy works for the British SOE, but is also in the services of the German SD as a double-agent, with neither actually sure anymore of who he is loyal to, given how deep he is in...though the Allies mostly assume it's them. He provides such good intel on both sides- though in his heart, he's still loyal to King and Country. His assistant and contact to the Allies as well as a general fixer, Valerie Mercier- a former Swiss gendarme- really is a wildcard compared to him. Unpredictable yet calculating, and if Fitzroy has no clear loyalty, it almost seems impossible to tell if Mercier just wants to watch the world burn, or profit from the chaos. With a bet that the Allies are going to win the war, and the Germans beginning to make a mess of things, stealing seems to come up prominently as a way of hitting the German war economy, and that is Fitzroy's plan. Keeping a little also seems to fit the bill. The plan at first is simple. Steal a train carrying about half a ton of Nazi gold, using firearms, replaced signalling and a small group of loyal agents, divert it to Switzerland by any means needed, take the gold onto trucks, and hit the German war machine where it hurts- it's money. And well, take some for themselves, wait till the war ends, and profit. Of course, Fitzroy knows he can't do that alone. He's smart enough to get the right people on board, and serves King and Country cleverly. Or so he thinks. Because he doesn't know how deep the rabbit hole is about to go, and that no robbery goes easy. The gold is only the start of an adventure that sees a lot of plundering, good ol' Nazi killing, and a deep plot that tests the characters and their loyalties, to morality, money and country. ------------------------------------------------------------- So yeah, any takers?
