The concept of teams comes primarily in the form of the 4-person teams that people are assigned to together during their time training at an Academy. After graduation, it seems the majority of teams disband or go their separate ways, since there aren't any named teams that exist among the adults in the show. Hunters and Huntresses often seem to work almost entirely alone - first episode, Glynda shows up alone rather than as part of a team to deal with Roman's theft; Qrow seems to have been solo for much of his career (though this is due to his Semblance cursing everyone around him, so he has a good reason to work solo as much as he can); Doctor Oobleck would probably have gone solo for his mission later on toward the end of season 2 if the Academy hadn't assigned a team of students for field experience. That said, there is precedence for graduated Hunters and Huntresses working together. Ozpin's group, for example, isn't a formal "team" yet has grouped together for a common cause. And to a certain extent, all Hunters and Huntresses are united by their duty to protect those unable to protect themselves. I could see Slater joining a team - he's cooperative and laid-back enough to fit in, and his defensive style lends itself well to teamwork to provide cover for other more offensively-minded teammates. I dunno if we're going to be able to do the team-naming convention, though. Might if we're creative enough.
