[@FallenTrinity][@Mega Birb] Ok so Birb nailed most of it but a few lore-maker pointers and tid bits.... Weapons tech isn't really in the 1990 era but more like maybe... the 2030-2040 era. It's a tad more advanced than today's stuff but not by much. Again stick to ballistics and while rail guns do exist and can be used on the personal level, then are basically just cannons you carry. In this, Rail Guns are more like rocket launchers than assault rifles. But they do exist. And they do break the sound barrier to launch a solid metal slug... but then you'd have to spend the better part of a minute reloading it and waiting for the engine cool down to pass. Sadly there are no robotic dogs. Duvari serve all the purposes Expedition Teams need so while dogs are still around they've become nothing more than pets in almost all cases. Headgear can be integrated to certain things, but it's usually rather basic things that a count or IR goggles can do such as revealing a laser to you or letting you know how many rounds you have left in your magazine. Beyond that there's no targeting assist or anything. Back to targeting and radar... Birb nailed this. That area of tech has fallen way back and has real issues working in the new world due to the extreme environments and the lack of relay stations out in the field. The best we have are long range radios that Anselmo uses to contact outposts.
so weapon tech wise, if we are looking at tech in the 2030 range, H.U.Ds that assist in range finding and sniping algorithms (measuring wind speed, humidity, distance to target, speed of target, etc)? Radio wise are we talking your headgear can reach HQ or is a Radio pack still necessary? So no personal cloaking devices but is the camouflage a bit more adaptive (in the sense like a chameleon? what about personal computers (like those in Call of Duty, the ones that sit on the wrist or like in Fallout)? If so do they do basic things like radio HQ, help with navigation, help set routes, etc?
