In space, could they not just be fired more directly at the target? The aiming indicator should adjust to account for gravity, or lack thereof, or just might be disabled. The HYDRA shell also breaks apart to release missiles.

But... yeah, I hadn't thought about space, really. Probably at a good disadvantage...
