Enzo lifted his head towards the sky as the rain pour down upon him. He could feel it in the air, their world was on the cusp of war and it was electric. He could sense it all around him, feel it in his blood and bones, conflict and tension building among gods and demigods alike. He was ready for it, for war, and not for some petty little mortal war either, but a war of gods. He his father was more than ready for a real war, it had been ages since there was a battle worthy of the god of war himself and his father’s distain of Zeus was hardly a secret. His father found the thunder god to be an unfit ruler, thinking not with the head on his shoulders and more concerned with chasing skirts than the state of things on high Olympus. He knew there were many who wanted to keep the peace but Enzo was hoping for all hell to break loose and for the chance for him to truly be a warrior. What better way to channel his pent-up blood lust than war among gods? Enzo’s thoughts of war were becoming more than a little intoxicating. “You like your getting ready for a wet t-shirt contest.” Said a familiar voice as the back of a hand slapped his shoulder. “Seriously, Enz, it’s cold enough to make Boreas shiver.” Dylan added as he took a few steps towards the dorm buildings and paused waiting for Enzo to follow. That explained the intoxicating feeling and his urge to indulge in thoughts of war; Dylan had that sort of effect on people if they weren’t careful. “You should be careful with that. One day I might indulge in punching your face.” Enzo jokingly threatened as they headed inside one of the dorm buildings. In all honesty, he usually found Dylan’s meddling to be calming, his influence made those who allowed it feel happier and it distracted him from the anger that always seemed to burn just below the surface. “Like you’d want to mess with the face of perfection. A little indulgence never hurt anyone.” Dylan said. “Where you rooming this year?” “I think you’ve missed the point of like most myths.” Enzo said as he showed his former roommate his assignment. “Shit, well at least we’ve got the same building. I guess I’ll see ya around.” Dylan said as Enzo headed into his dorm and Dylan continued to his own room assignment. Dylan found his room empty and threw his stuff on one of the beds before heading back out to the rest of the campus with a stack of fliers for the party he was throwing later that night. A start of the year party was just as much a tradition as the faculty’s attempts to stop it. Which was why the flier was in a not so secret code, allowing him deniability should faculty get a hold of it, the location was kept secret until the last minute when children of Hermes would spread the word of how to get there, and those with magic would help cloak what was going on. It really was amazing what could be accomplished when demigods worked together. He passed fliers out with a wink and smile to everyone he came across.
