She had taken time off for the day - she'd started the day feeling far too stressed and just couldn't go to school feeling the way she was. It didn't help that the cause of this was a terrible nightmare she'd had about her father, whom could not stop her from ditching. Not anymore, at least. So she decided to stay inside the Gateway, where she felt closer to the heavens than she did on Earth. Since this was the one and only place she had ever seen her mother, it gained a sort of spiritual significance to her, and has since become her home. The only thing she uses her empty apartment for is the electricity - her real home existed in this place, whatever it was, wherever it was. Life wasn't necessarily hard since becoming a devil. Her work wasn't too hard and she was well-compensated. She enjoyed getting to hang out in clubs and professionally dance, even if the attire she had to wear was a bit revealing. She didn't really have much of a problem with that though - it was usually the gazes that she'd get when dancing which unnerved her. She used to be a lot more susceptible to her nerves, however after dancing in front of people for so long, it became easier. Of course, she still got plenty nervous, however was now of a legal age to drown it out with alcohol and not have to worry about repercussions. Practice certainly helped too, of course, but she preferred booze. Less chance of getting a headache that way! She checked the clock on her phone. School had already finished, so it seemed. She did promise Tsumiki that she would be there by the afternoon, however she wasn't sure if she was feeling it. She was up for dancing tonight, but dealing with the others? That required a lot more alcohol. "Knowing Kohana, there's probably booze there. I guess I should make sure they're not eating my food, at the very least. I didn't eat much for breakfast and I haven't had lunch, and sleeping all day won't make me feel less hungry, either. Mmmmmmmmh..." Ekibe took a look at the dark blinds she used to block the afternoon sun which never left this place. "That means getting up..." After mulling it over for a few minutes, Ekibe found herself with enough energy to get up. With a stretch, she looked to her wardrobe and found her school uniform nicely kept on top of it. The changing process was minimal, and after finally slipping on her shoes, she strolled over to the windows, accidentally letting the blinds open a little too quickly. Dodgammit..." After she let her eyes adjust, the scenery opened up before her. The narrow wooden pathway splitting through a garden smelling of fresh autumn lead directly to the portal standing just above a pond. Beyond the portal lay the empty apartment which she had rented out, dull and without signs of life. Not that anyone would really come over anyways - she kept her apartment's location a secret, save for Tsumiki and whomever of the peerage had managed to find out over the past couple months. Grabbing a chocolate bar from the fridge and her school bag for the sake of grabbing it, Ekibe opened the front door to her personal haven and ventured down the steps. Once through the portal, it took about a minute to close it again -- record time, in fact -- and within a moment she was out the door and on her way.
