~Appearance~ ~Name~ Nino ~Age~ 7 (48 in cat years) ~Brand~ Body ~Weapon & Rune~ Nino has a collar imprinted with two Storm runes. Nino uses this collar to speak, making his life pretty miserable if he doesn't have access to a cat-friendly accessory with storm runes imprinted into them. ~Faction~ Stray Cat (Tabby) ~Personality~ Nino is curious, as any other Cat would be, and has very little understanding for the world around him. But tries his best not to intrude on the lives of others. When interacting with humans, he rarely lets on that he can speak, but will not hesitate to audibly defend himself from caring individuals that are desperate to pull him off the streets and give him a loving home. Nino only has one master, and that person died a long time ago. He'll never be somebody's house cat, and resents the idea of being treated like a cute harmless kitty. When speaking, Nino is as dignified as he can manage with his limited understanding of the human language. That being said, he doesn't have much trouble conversing with humans, but will occasionally fail to pinpoint common social trends such as sarcasm, metaphors, and analogies. He's far too literal, and his lexicon is not as vast as his behaviour would suggest. He's also very easy to win over with food, for a short period of time, anyways. Despite his attitude, he's still a cat. ~Background~ Nino was a common house cat owned by an old magical scholar who's name has been lost to the times. Even he, with his above average catlike memory cannot, for the love of fish, remember what his master's name was. At any rate, Nino was special. Through experimental breeding of common tabbies with the feline species found in the wilds of Kokotha, Nino was born, and achieved a Brand at the age of 3, to his master's astonishment. That's about as far back as he can remember himself, being a cat that gained above average intelligence long after he was born. Every memory before that occurrence was blurry, and unintelligible, like he had woken up from a pleasant dream. Now thinking back, all Nino has to offer are the mice in his head. His master constructed a collar laced with storm runes, hoping that the feline would be intelligent enough to use their power to allow speech. It wasn't successful. Not at first, anyways. Nino knew what he had to do, but he didn't know how. His understanding of the two-legged language was not very advanced, and it took quite some time before his master could even command him as if Nino were a child. Unfortunately, Nino's master never got the chance to hear his voice. He passed away at the ripe old age of 67, a victim of cancer. Without a second thought, Nino left his Master's house, with the collar in tow, uttering his first word in a scratchy, worn voice that sounded just like the man who cared for him. "S...Sad.." Now, Nino wanders Kokotha, studying the way of the people that live peacefully while trying his best not to get run over or stepped on. Fortunately humans are very friendly to cats, most of the time. Especially hyper intelligent cats with abnormal physical capabilities. ~Other~
