[@Iuniper] There's the standard D&D races, which in the current edition are:

Aaracokra
Aasimar
Bugbear
Dragonborn
Dwarf
Elf
Firbolg
Genasi
Gnome
Goblin
Goliath
Halfling
Half-elf
Half-orc
Hobgoblin
Human
Kenku
Kobold
Lizardfolk
Orc
Tabaxi
Triton
Tiefling
Yuan-ti
And that's if you don't include the third-party source material which adds merfolk and vampires just as a start. Some of the others sound like what furries use to describe various biological abominations resulting from cramming human anatomy into an animal's physiology. :Joke Also, play the Elder Scrolls games Morrowind or Skyrim.
Wow I obviously didn't read the entire 5e manual. I'll check some of those out. Maybe I'll just be a bear. The Elder Scrolls games are what I'd call "first-person adventure simulator" games, not RPGs unfortunately.
