I posted over in the Interest Check. I think I have finished my character, I feel good about it, but please let me know if I should change anything or if there are any questions. 

[@Highland Hart], I feel guilty for not reading any of the posted character sheet WIP's until I was nearly done with mine. After finishing most sections of my own I did read yours and realized that our characters are in similar, if not the same, occupations. I'm sure it's fair to say that Deacon and Jamie would be aware of each other but anything beyond that is up to you. Let me know, I'm fine either way.

Wildlife Biologist, Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Jamie specializes in species trans-location and animal behavior, both group and individual.

[b]Appearance[/b]
Although a new arrival to Hestia Prime, Jamie wasted no time getting to work. Considering a portion of his work involves spending a large amount of time outside, it is no surprise that the tone of his skin is slightly tanned. The biologist stands at 5'11, 6' in his work boots, and boasts an athletic physique alongside a number of scars on his face and body. If it were not for an almost constant smile on his face or his overwhelming need to be positive and express happiness, one would think he was quite a grim specimen. His eye color is a shade of dark brown, matching the color of the hair that tops his head and face. Before attending a University and studying, Jamie kept his hair shaved along the sides with more length on the top. It has since filled in a bit more on the sides, but not much. A beard still covers his face. A large scar starts on the left side of his head, below the hairline, and goes down to the eyebrow. It picks up below the eye and ends midway through the cheek. Another scar is on his jaw, the left side as well, in the shape of almost a right angle. If he were to take his index, middle, and ring fingers on his left hand and place them facing outward over his left eye, one would see a scar that fits almost perfectly between the two on his face. (The other cuts and scrapes in the photograph can be ignored).

The wardrobe in Jamie's quarters is not overly fantastic in size, but enough to have variety throughout the week. While working Jamie typically wears dark Khaki colored cargo pants, they sit well on his lower body and are tucked into a pair of dirty black boots that could be described as "outdoors man boots". With this he will wear a T-shirt that ranges in colors of black, white, or grey. A white Weyland-Yutani identification badge hangs from the left side of the chest of his shirt, it has his name and a photo on it. During social engagements Jamie will typically wear clean shoes, a pair of either dark jeans or slacks, and a shirt of some sort that goes along with the outfit.

[b]Strengths[/b]

[*] Through his work with wildlife in the past, Jamie can (if given appropriate time) identify animal behaviors. 
[*] If he can focus Jamie can be quite creative during adversity.
[*] Jamie can hold his own in a fist fight, but if up against someone who has experience beyond some scuffles and a few street fights, he will most likely lose.
[*] Jamie has been in some violent encounters and is durable, more so mentally but also physically.

[b]Weaknesses[/b]

[*] Though he fancies himself as a durable man, his right knee is like his Achilles heel. If running for a prolonged time, or if hit in the knee, it causes a great deal of pain and can be temporarily immobilizing.  
[*] Smoking for almost 10 years has caused Jamie's stamina to be lacking. Again, running or prolonged physical activity can tire him drastically.
[*] Though he disguises it well most of the time, Jamie usually does not completely trust anyone. This distrust will occasionally lead to an outburst of accusations and anger, though Jamie will try to defuse when he realizes he is in the wrong.
[*] Jamie could be described as claustrophobia. On top of that, he is definitely uncomfortable when left alone in the dark. That discomfort increases if he is unfamiliar with his surroundings.

[b]Personality[/b]
The most notable feature of his personality is that Jamie is fervently driven and dedicated to his work, and to wildlife. He is also one of those people that thinks that a problem can be solved through dedication and hard work, he does not believe in taking the easy road. Because of this, it can be hard to change his mind on decisions related to this trait.
Jamie is an optimist at heart. Even during some of his darkest moments, he has always tried to find a silver lining. That being said, he is not susceptible to feeling as if all is lost. He would call this trait "bouncing back". He feels as if he can bounce back from adversity. Though it would sound like he is a very serious person, Jamie is typically humorous and merry. He enjoys making those around him happy or helping them, this is overcompensation for the depression that lurks in the back of his head. The depression is a result of working in the conservation field back home, which is seen as an uphill battle.

Jamie is a double faceted man. On the outside he projects happiness, optimism, and dedication. On the inside he can be insecure, distrusting (very often), and resentful. By lying and projecting this outward image, Jamie tries his best to hide his shortcomings. 

[b]Family[/b]
In his field, and with his specialization, Jamie is often required to travel for months at a time. This has been an obstacle when it comes to forming long term relationships. He is not married, engaged, or in a relationship. The Lancaster family consists of Richard Lancaster (father), Lana Lancaster (mother), and Donnie Lancaster (younger brother). Jamie maintains infrequent contact with them, they understand his work keeps him busy.

[b]Backstory[/b]
The early years of James Lancaster are rather unremarkable. Born in the United States, he spent his entire childhood there. Things get interesting when Jamie acquires the set of scars on his face. Though he would like to tell people some grandiose story of an encounter with a dangerous animal, Jamie received these injuries while working as a bouncer at a bar near the University he was studying at. A few students had gotten rowdy and Jamie was tasked, alongside another bouncer, with getting them out. Things were smooth at first but the last member insisted on staying for one more drink. When Jamie informed him that this was not an option, the man drew a knife and swung wildly. Raising his hand to defend himself, Jamie was able to stop damage to his left eye. The man was arrested and Jamie continued work a few days later. This bouncer job was the main source of income while Jamie was studying.

During school, before University, Jamie had above average grades but nothing honor student worthy. Using his first year of study after high school, Jamie was able to get better grades and attain scholarships. While in his study Jamie volunteered often and took an internship in his field. Jamie studied for only 4 years and therefor does not hold the title of Doctor. After graduating Jamie traveled around Asia, Indonesia, Africa, and South America. He did this because he felt as if he was caged in the United States and he also wanted to work in the field more. Lancaster was able to assist in the translocation of African buffalo to Texas as well as North American wolves to Europe, although the latter was not very successful. 

The year before Jamie was hired by Weyland-Yutani, he was working in an office in the United States. This was not something that he enjoyed doing. The work was a result of the failed relocation to Europe of the wolves. Though he did not enjoy this work, it was necessary to him as he was working on trying to find a solution to the failure that was the relocation of wolves to Europe. Shortly after his 26th birthday, a Weyland-Yutani representative approached him. The woman said that the corporation was looking to hire and send people in the wildlife field to a colony on another planet, and that his knowledge of wildlife translocation and resume was what interested them. Jamie jumped at the opportunity. He has been on Hestia Prime now for a few weeks and has wasted no time getting into the swing of things.
