Ziv’s skin tone resembles that of wood ash, devoid of much color that is typical of living humans. She is always warm to the touch, so her few clothes are usually lighter, thinner, or lacking in sleeves. She cannot go anywhere without her glasses. [/hider] [Theme song] “Believer” by Imagine Dragons [Name] Ziv [Age] 13 years [Gender] Female [Personality] Ziv tends to act more passively than most, trying her best to stay away from being the center of attention and focusing on building her few but strong ties with others. That doesn’t mean she’s super timid, she just prefers to be in low energy settings, taking things slow, and taking the time to appreciate and process the world around her with a smile. She enjoys being a little eccentric and odd, asking about some of the most out-of-the-blue questions one can really think of. Ziv doesn’t take harsh criticism or meanness well. Her short fuse can go off in the blink of an eye, sometimes even turning her a little violent. It takes a bit to calm her down but, when she does, she will try her best to mend things with the other person. She likes people and learning from others, as well as being true to herself. Oh, and animals. But she really, really hates water (it takes away her heat), mean people, and her gift. [History] Her parents (whose names she’s suppressed, as well as her given name) were workers in Nox, her mother in the large-scale cloth-making industry as a laborer and her father as a factory manager in machinery production. Having a daughter wasn’t what they had in mind for their first child, as they were intending a boy to work in the father’s factory, but they kept her nonetheless and showed affection. They taught her to embrace being herself and that, with hard work, came eventual reward. They did try for a boy again after two years, which succeeded. They clearly cared a lot more for her brother, as he was the child who would keep their family alive in the future, but she didn’t dare to complain. Instead, she stayed quiet and did what she could for her family, making their home dinners when her parents were tired, going shopping on her own when she was capable, so on. They were okay for a while, up until Ziv turned seven, when her father began to have issues at the factory. The workers began to riot and strike, causing a strain on the workplace and, eventually, his earnings. Her mother’s income wasn’t enough to support the feed all four mouths, but they knew they couldn’t starve themselves for their children’s sake as they wouldn’t survive in the conditions of the factories. They had to logic themselves to a decision, but they settled on giving Ziv up. They took her to Dirt Town, where they disappeared on her before she knew it. Old Fritz found her eventually and took her in, but she still harbors a lot of anger towards her family because of it, so she refuses to discuss anything concerning them. Though she didn’t try to get super close with Fritz, she found that he accepted her wholly, just like the others. She came to him with problems and questions and he’d answer them best he could. [Relations] Family – Resentment, emotionally detached. Fritz – Open, free to ask many odd questions, a lot of respect [Level] Level 1 [Skills] She’s pretty good at climbing things and memorizing information. But her proudest skill is being able to cry on command (it’s a lot harder than you think)! [Affinity] Fire [Gift] Molecular Combustion: She usually calls it heating. Upon touch, Ziv can speed up molecules (basically making them heat up) to cause reactions to happen, like explosions or breakage. This speeding up of molecules may cause collisions with molecules of oxygen found in the air, creating fire, but this is only possible with flammable substances. Breakage is caused by the movement of these molecules in a solid object and destroying the bonds the molecules have each other. Explosions are a bit more tricky, as most things can explode if given enough excitement. She can explode most things that fit in her hand, or bring them to the point of explosion (so that if given any extra energy from being thrown or heated even more, they explode). Again, this is limited to her direct contact and concentration, as some reactions make take longer to happen than others. Even then, these reactions can pose a threat to her wellbeing as well if used recklessly. [Inventory] She really only has a set of very old, flaking brass knuckles she picked up off the street and a pair of gloves. She doesn’t really use the knuckles much, but Ziv uses the gloves whenever she’s afraid that she will heat something up. [/hider]
