Ruling

Each spike is treated as an attack. 0.50 of a second isn't quite fast enough for Bloodbayne to miss each shot if he is still in control of them or guiding them.
The remaining energy to guiding them and accuracy must be accounted for, but the continuous stipulation of the energy drain allows Xavier to guide his attacks.
Sarah successfully blocked the first attack; however, each spike must be treated as an attack to readjust their trajectory otherwise they'd miss as Sarah suggested.
Since they are stilled "guided" by Xavier they are not treated as part of a combo chain, and thus mitigating the first attack doesn't ensure subsequent other attacks from the same cluster of spikes will be properly evaded.
