Well...since I intend to wait for all others to post before continuing myself, I offer this OOC description of the craft as I know it. Since you have already established an outer access door, that kind of forces it into medium to medium-heavy fighter class as a light fighter would only have a cockpit. There is probably an empty seat behind Sam; perhaps for a gunner or for navigation.
The craft is, geometrically speaking, an elongated tetrahedron in shape, with each side angling in slightly to a central crease, which follows the main hull. It has no prominent fins or wings, beyond the sharp corners of the triangle itself. There is no obvious method for propulsion, though the flat side on the back of the shape seems devoid of any obvious weapons or sensor systems, making it the logical location for thrusters of some type. The surface of the hull is almost seamless, without decoration, and highly reflective but for the scarring incurred by battle damage and crash damage. There is no obvious mechanism for landing struts, though there are faltering power emanations which might suggest anti-gravity systems intended to keep the craft aloft at less than half a meter. No obvious weapon systems are visible from the exterior, though there are some elongated indentations along the starboard and port sides of the cockpit which may indicate some kind of beneath-the-surface systems which are not presently engaged. The whole thing seems designed to cut the sharpest, most angular shape possible. Toward the rear of the craft, a prominent "ring" of metal appears to connect the three edges of the tetrahedron. The air around this ring appears to ripple and warp, though no excess heat is produced by it. Inside, there is little room for much more than emergency rations, a weapons locker, the pilot and copilot, and a very limited cargo space. The whole of the craft seems dedicated to internal systems, which betrays a design philosophy hinging on efficiency before comfort. Sam is still strapped into the pilot's seat, which has just enough room to swivel to either side, allowing the pilot access to each of three consoles. The window is currently inactive, but is capable of displaying sensor data in either an Augmented Reality view or an outright display of sensor data. It's cracked in several places, and completely dark as far as the tech side goes. That's about it, for now. I'm sure other questions will arise. We can handle them as they do.
