Interesting. Actually, you hit upon a pretty big plot point. Kudos! Anyway, there will be an AI involved that isn't Jove or Mars. As to the details, I'm going to keep that nebulous just for right now. As the story unfolds, things will start to be revealed and all that good jazz! But an AI within the squad? Perhaps a VI. At this point, humanity has had very bad relations with advanced programs and such. Something to think about though? The idea of a Cortana-like AI is kinda tempting though ... 

I think I answered this question in the above. However, humanity has been able to rebuild their technology level to just below what they were during the Human-Machine war. I'll think about that AI deal though. I can see the value in having something like that.
