[@Evanist] Fair enough, but I have to stress that forty is just the average. It's quite possible for some to live far beyond that.

As for machinists, they tend to use these flintlock pistols and muskets. Or at least a fantasy setting parallel. They'll likely have access to a sort of "magic shot" ability.

On the flipside, they also use simple machines. If your familiar with FF6, then Edgar's abilities fit the bill nicely.
