Her face turned a delicate shade of pink as she stepped away from the window, shaking her head at herself in admonishment. The expectation had been unreasonable, she surmised. Why, if she were an Egyptian goddess who branded strangers from foreign lands in her free time, why should she be available to answer every little query? But at the same time, it was just as unreasonable for Nora to presume to know the inner workings of a deity--almost just as unreasonable for a woman of math and science to believe in a deity. But as she stepped away from the window, looking fondly at Spot, whom had curled up on the couch, she supposed that if the Christian scientists could believe in the divine and study things of a more logical nature, perhaps she could as well. She could not deny the events that had happened that night and she could not disprove Neema's hypothesis. Perhaps some sleep would ease her mind. Nora gently ruffled Spot's head, as the dog looked up wearily at her. "It's time for bed, darling," Nora whispered. She scratched him behind the ears and then headed into her bedroom, hearing her dog follow behind her. A moment later, she was tucked into bed and in her favorite nightgown, with Spot curled up at the foot of her bed. It took her less than an hour to fall asleep, already expecting that reoccurring dream, or rather night terror, to come.
