True. The [i]group[/i] shouldn't know his entire history, but it would be nice for us to know. Your character doesn't know that Adrian had a bad childhood, or that Gwen's grandfather sold nazi-nicked loot, or even that Mark used to go-kart. Backstory adds charactr to people, and makes us understand them better.
