With 10 years of constant fighting, gear would slowly, yet surely go to crap.

US troops would go from [url=http://www.defense.gov/dodcmsshare/homepagephoto/2009-03/hires_090325-A-4576B-167%5B1%5D.jpg]this[/url], looking like they are dressed for a long 3 days somewhere in Afghanistan, to [url=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fa/BDUs-forest.jpg/660px-BDUs-forest.jpg]this[/url], looking like they are prepping to fight Ivan in the Fulda Gap in West Germany. Heck, some might end up looking like [url=http://www.corbisimages.com/images/BE082439.jpg?size=67&uid=%7Bc06d12c9-6c05-4834-9c4d-e5c6229e8961%7D]this[/url], digging in the jungles to fight Charlie.

Or some god-awful combination of the three.
