I've only got a WIP to show (I'm working on the abilities fields and I need to talk with Moerin about some of the background stuff) but it should give a pretty clear idea of where I'm headed.

General

Name: Ayaka Hyuuga
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian.
Personality: If there is a clan whose personality can be predicted with absolute certainty, it is the Hyuuga: stoic, often stuck up, and about as much fun to be around as having a cactus shoved where the sun don't shine. So of course, when it comes to meeting the heir, any sane person would expect a monument to arrogance and emotional stuntedness. Instead, Ayaka has withstood her upbringing and clan in a seemingly impossible way, emerging from everything as bright and sunny as a puppy. She's cheerful and outgoing--excessively so, often displaying a worrying disregard for personal space and making people wish for an off switch. The life of a ninja hasn't worn her down like so many others, with the grins coming back as soon as the dirty work is done. Yet for all her exuberance, it's indisputable that she isn't failing in her role--she's not too gentle to manage a clan well, nor so energetic that she fails to meet her obligations. Seemingly, despite her distinctly un-Hyuugalike behaviour her father has no issues with her future. Her biggest black mark is that her ego can be a bit excessive, too quick to assume that a fight will fall in her favour. To her credit, it's often an attitude that she can back up with force if need be but a distinctly worrying prospect when combined with her other major flaw. The girl loves to fight, from a friendly spar all the way to life or death battles. She's not one for the quiet life.
History: From birth, Ayaka has been marked as someone who would one day be of great importance, the heir to one of Konoha's great clans. And yet, despite the pressure bearing down upon her, the young girl took things in stride and threw herself into learning the Gentle Fist with such enthusiasm that it's unclear where natural talent ends and hard work begins. It was a given that she would pass the exams and become a genin--and fortunately for her, placed in a taijutsu-emphasising team along with a girl that would come to be one of her best friends. It was after only a year of being genin that they were entered, and she {?:along with Wakana} gained promotion to the next rank. At this stage, missions naturally started to become more dangerous, with their taijutsu-heavy focus and Ayaka's particular devotion to the Gentle Fist providing a great weakness that could be exploited. It perhaps wasn't surprising then that a mission near Iwa took a turn for the worse, with a far more ninjutsu-intensive team keeping them comparatively pinned down... until their sensei sacrificed himself, buying time for the others to get away--yet their third teammate was left with such severe injuries that their career was over for good. Though it dented the girl's enthusiasm, she bounced back with surprising alacrity--and a new desire to expand her abilities, to never get countered so easily again and protect her teammates. The training and accomplishments on other missions paid off, and Ayaka was promoted to Jounin, often working on missions along with her former teammate. Ayaka keeps a supply of senbon on her at all times--though she has yet to hone her ability to use them to her own satisfaction.
Fighting Style: Taijutsu Specialist
Strengths: Ayaka's greatest strength, outside of an unusually honed physique that makes her a nightmare to keep up with in a close quarters fight, is a surprisingly analytical mind. With only a short engagement, she can often assess an opponent's preferred method of combat and any limitations to their taijutsu, as well as whether to draw the fight out or just rush in and try to overwhelm the opponent. This skill is particularly pronounced in regards to taijutsu--though her claim that it would only take a single exchange of blows to break down an opponent's skill, style, and even where they learned to fight is exaggerated, her ability to perform these feats over the course of a fight is not.
Weaknesses: Though not as overly specialised as some of her family members are, Ayaka has no great ability with most of the ninja arts outside of melee. Particularly in genjutsu, without her eyes she would be almost entirely helpless, too used to being able to see the chakra and spot the illusion. But without a doubt her greatest weakness is the most obvious: if she can't get her hands onto you, then she won't be presenting any real threat; the jounin's ranged capabilities are unsuited for a drawn out engagement and she habitually goes into a fight without a weapon for backup.
Abilities/Techniques First and foremost, Ayaka is a master of the Gentle Fist and its standard forms, with the chakra control and dojutsu that this implies. As ever, the Gentle Fist is extremely versatile for a purely taijutsu style, incapacitating with such deadly ease that the Hyuuga view little need to learn anything else and supply a host of defensive measures that defend against both ninjutsu and attempts to restrain the user. Her eyesight is astoundingly good--when called upon to scout, she can conduct sweeps of dozens of miles just by walking in a straight path. However, after the loss of her teacher, Ayaka has reconsidered the validity of relying on the Gentle Fist alone, and as part of her preparation to become a jounin set about learning as many taijutsu styles as possible. Though far from a master, her skill at analysing combat styles and pre-existing experience leave her widely proficient, and still rapidly improving. Her goal, soon, is to integrate them into her personal variant of the Gentle Fist--already, she tends to include a lot of kicks that would catch those expecting the orthodox approach by surprise--and allow her response to different conditions to be adjusted on the fly. Still, even protection against the Gentle Fist itself isn't enough to take her on in a taijutsu fight--grappling, throws, and even more brutal strikes are already in her skillset, as is the application of senbon to pressure points (something she wishes to extend to tenketsu). Despite her preference to rely on taijutsu, Ayaka isn't foolish enough to have not learned any ninjutsu--but primarily those that could be used to augment her close-quarters capabilities, rather than supplant them entirely. Thus, the Earth Release techniques she knows are those dealing with using the ground as another avenue for ambushes or hiding, and the one Fire Release technique is the utterly straightforwards Flame Bullet: at her favoured engagement range, most people are unlikely to be expecting fire to the face from a Hyuuga. And of course, she knows the standard academy techniques. Sometimes, the simplest things can be the best.
