"I don't have the slightest idea how this is meant to work," she sighed and continued to glare at the chipped doors as if waiting for the answer to materialise on the wood. "It is such a marvel though, whoever made this must've had a reason for doing so. Or perhaps there was no reason," Saying those words made Eudora feel almost uncomfortable, the words felt heavy and unnatural on her tongue. She always was a huge believer that everything, no matter how small, had a reason for existing. But it was entirely possible this magical box that transcended space and time was just a side project of a mad magician or the result of a sorcerer's boredom that somehow got wrapped up in all of this. However, the person (or possibly thing) that made this must've been proud of it, side project or not, it was incredibly built. There must've been something on it that identified the maker and their pride. An emblem perhaps? Company name? Guidebook? Something, anything. And so Eudora began to search it, walking circles around it, bending over slightly to get a better look, feeling every groove for an initial, she hadn't lost hope yet. And as she toured around the cupboard, she attempted to clear her mind, trying to recall any fables or myths about time travelling boxes. There must be something, but all she was able to come up with on the spot was Dr Who. And on her quest to find the mystery maker through luck alone, her fingers brushed past the doors again. She could almost hear the sound of the swirling vortex that sucked Liam in as an idea suddenly struck her. "Fairfax," she called out to him, her voice slightly muffled as the random plan in her mind brewed, "If I were to open the doors and jump in after Liam, would you follow me? I know it sounds crazy but Liam is," Eudora paused for a moment, the word "friend" was rising in the back of her throat. For a brief second, she wondered if she truly considered him a friend. "Liam is- is a good person who doesn't deserve to be trapped in whatever world he was thrust into." Eudora hoped there was a side of Fairfax that was as brave as he was adorably sheepish.
