Hey y'all!

So I've got two ideas, and I want to find out which one you all think is better. So my character is going to be a total hedonist, despite which of the two ideas I go with. But in one, she's a hedonist simply because that's part of her personality. She'd rather die than lead a normal, unpleasant life. The other is that she's a hedonist because she doesn't have a chance to live a normal, unpleasant, full life due to some illness or something that's going to have her die at a young age. So which one do y'all think is better and/or less cliche?
