Right, well, as stated above - unless your character is _extremely_ experienced (I was in some of the previous seasons, with a character who's been in the tower for some time and has decades of experience on top of that from... prior occupations.) they're not likely to be a paladin. Paladin is a solo operative with years of experience and excellent skills without many peers. Unless you _are_ making a character who's a fantasically skilled hacker who has skills on top of that - the best hackers would, if I had to guess, probably be a knight or Artisan, as you said. Someone who's skill is hacking isn't likely to deploy in solo operations - as part of a team, absolutely! But a Paladin would likely require further skills in other areas as well.

Granted, I'm just some lady from previous incarnations, so obviously the final word rests with Merlin alone. But that's my two cents, at least.
