It had been a long and very difficult journey for the young mutant, so much hate in the streets - so much fear about the 'mutant menace'. The young boy, Alex had decided to travel by night, sleep by day in hopes that he would have an easier time of things - less people about; that is what he thought, he was right about that - apart from those who creep around in the night are even worse then those who partake in the rat race in the light. That was behind him now. He stood at the entrance to the one place that would help him gain better control over his mutation, but as he looked up at the archway but it had been quite badly destroyed and only part of it was still standing. Shocked Alex climbed over the rubble that blocked the driveway to the school and started to walk down the drive way.His journey was shortly interrupted by the schools defense systems activating, small guns popping out of the lawn, targeting him and then shooting. To say that the young earth mover was a bit surprised was an understatement as he tried to run past the seemingly never ending guns and other defense measures the school seemed to have. A few moments of running/ trying to avoid the weapons fire (with some success) he had got got to the steps leading up to the front door of the school where he managed to dive into the alcove, leaning against the wall, tired and scared he slid down the wall and curled up into the fetal position wishing that the guns would stop or that he had some better protection from the guns. As Alex focused on the thoughts of being safer he had unwittingly activated his mutant power as he could hear low rumbles (not that he was in a position to pay attention) as the earth just below the lawn surged upwards and was drawing nearer the 17 year old where it made a wall of earth sealing off the doorway before enforcing itself with more earth making it more sturdy. Alex only looked up when the only source of light had been extinguished and his jaw dropped when he saw what had done it - it was one of the rare times that he felt his power was a gift and not a curse. All he could do while he sat there trying to calm himself down was that someone would notice the disturbance and help him...
