[@Ryougu] It ended up getting pretty convoluted, but when affected by a discard spell a character may not cast more than (3 - the number of cards discarded + the number of additional cards drawn) in their next turn. Optionally a player may gain one additional spell by choosing not to gain mana on their turn (effectively discarding a land). Obviously this system is not perfect, since it makes draw spells only relevant for undoing discard spells, but there is not much of a way to incorporate draw spells into a non-card game environment otherwise. [@Ryougu][@Apollosarcher][@PrivateVentures][@Kessir Tarkin] As I said, the system is pretty convoluted. I know I said originally that this would not be done in exactly the same way as an actual Magic game, but that was mostly to allow inexperienced players to take part. So since everyone here (I think) is relatively experienced with Magic: The Gathering, how about we use an online program to play actual games, note down the spells, creatures, etc. that are cast and then use that as the basis for the rp? Basically, games of Magic with context. It will speed things up (potentially 1 post per duel instead of one per turn) and make all spells work again. Obviously it means all participants will have to be online at once, but otherwise, it might work. Regardless, I'm not making a change that big without player input, so let me know what you think.
