Remus' frown deepened. Janius let go of his breath. Kaleeth's idea was sound and he was grateful for her quick thinking. Unfortunately, Remus was not impressed. "You were never interested in honourable service," he said. "What changed you?" "The people I worked with," Janius responded. He could follow up Kaleeth's angle. "They showed me what it was to work for something greater. They showed me that what I did saved lives and helped the Empire." It had a hint of truth, but for the lycan clans rather than just Cyrodiil. "They showed me how I could belong." "You could have joined the legion and learned the same things." "Father, I am not here to prove myself to you." Janius grasped his temper back. "I am my own man, with my own family and my own responsibilities now. I don't need to-" "Then why are you here!?" Remus spoke over him. Janius was glad he had an answer. He straightened and swelled his chest. "I'm here to help my sister."
Lunise slowed to a stop and looked at Meesei with a small frown. Her pause would have preceded a question, one could suspect. She chose not to ask it. She looked around the ground floor hall they were walking in and walked in a certain direction. "This way," she said. Lunise led Meesei through an open archway to a compact indoor amphitheatre. She closed the large entrance doors behind her. Magical lights illuminated the entire interior of chairs and desks. Their steps echoed in the vast empty room. The stage itself was empty but for a large sturdy cabinet that materials could be set up on for presentation. There was more than enough space for Meesei to open her portal. "We are out of sight here." Lunise said. She charged a spell in her raised arm for a moment, scanning the room for life, and then nodded to Meesei.
