[b][color=ForestGreen]Relationship Status:[/color][/b] She's estranged from the only living member of her family that is known. Her mother does not seek contact and Alysse returns this feeling of not wanting anything to do with her.
[b][color=ForestGreen]Personality:[/color][/b] Alysse is a rather conflicting person. She's very solitary, thanks her living as a animal for years. She distrusts everyone and is wary of all strange things. The unknown is dangerous, and danger is something she tries to avoid. Which is odd as she will put herself in danger for others if she deems them worth it. To be worth it she deems that on trust, her own curious nature, and what the person or being has done to her or against her. This self sacrifice stems from her actually wanting to be around others. To be acknowledged and accepted, even as she rejects this as a weakness. It takes a persistent and clever person to get her to open up. But for those who can get her to do so, there is nothing she wouldn't do keep those people safe. Alysse has a very kind nature towards animals, and a rougher kindness with people do to her nerves with them and the fact she cannot abide weakness in others. If her shell could be cracked the young woman is very affectionate in her own way.
She is very spartan with her possessions and clothing. Ready to ditch everything to fight or flee. The few things she does keep are small and braided into her hair or into leather bound trinkets. Things that can be removed or broken quickly if need be. She is terrified of being called a monster, to the point it cause her to retreat quickly in her upset state to the nearest 'safe' place she can deem so. If angered she will draw upon that beastial aspect though it would take a lot get to this point. Her mother was so disgusted at her mutation, thus she has developed the habit of simply take people anger, deeming herself a monster. Shutting down in a sense. This basically another point of her lack of confidence with other humans and having/dealing with relationships. Thus she is even more quiet and says only when asked something directly. Or when she truely needs to know something.

Her mother was having a rant at Alysse for failing in her chores for the day. The woman was never overly kind to her daughter and was already in sour mood. Cornered and with her mother in a rage, Alysse did the only thing she could. She looked for escape and failed to find a decent route. So she endured the verbal tearing at every bit she did wrong. In her anger and pain she took the form of a raven- something she often watched in the skies- and ravaged her mother's hand. Badly damaging it and managing to escape into the forest that surrounded their house. Panicked and scared by this new development. There she learned to shift back to her human form after about a week of being trapped in her Raven-form. She learned how to fly and what to eat as a raven. When she returned to her home after a second week in the wild, testing the new form and adapting to it. 

[b][color=ForestGreen]Why did you choose the side that you did?:[/color][/b]
Alysse never cared much for people and took to living on her own in the forest, using her mutant powers. But when she was caught stealing and sent back to her mother. She was given a choice by the wicked woman. To either go into foster care, be turned over to the authorities, or go off to a school and far from her mother's home. She was sent to Xavier's school and proved to be a capable fighter and good person for all her rough ways and thoughts. Thus she was invited to join the X-men and accepted after seeing and hearing what the Brotherhood were doing.

[b][color=ForestGreen]General History:[/color][/b] Alysse was born to Anita Laine and Robert Laine in Anchorage Alaska. They moved from Anchorage to the wilderness. Living in a cabin near the sea's shore. Life was good for the family but it was not to last. Her older sister, Bethany, was killed shortly after her birth by a swift acting fever. Her family was shattered by the death and her eldest brother, Richard, running off to join the army when he was eightteen. She was five when that happened. So then her father left a few months later, never to return. The first five years of her life, Alysse spent her life watching the orca pods and the ravens. Staying out of the turbulent house.

After the loss of her siblings and father, her mother taught her best she could. If one can call a woman with a bad temper and worse attitude a good teacher. Alysse learned quickly, if with a growing distaste towards the woman. Nothing she did was never good enough for Anite Laine. So she spent most of her time out of the house and in the forest or sea shore. Living off the land, and attending to the house while going to school. She lived on the edge, constantly going into the forest to avoid her mother for the next seven years of her life. Learning all she could of the local wildlife and how to survive till she was twelve.

At that point, her powers came to the fore. She spent that first year testing her raven form and living more in the forest. It was at this point she stopped attending the local school. Her mother had fully cast her out of the house, so Alysse was taking up resident in a shed by the sea. It was warm enough in the winter, and held enough stock for the firewood. She learned of her other forms over the years. Testing the limits of her ability. Taking the forms of deer, wolf, fox and ever the greatest of all... An Orca. She only took the form once, after years of study on them. She was seventeen at the time. Her mother caught up to her thanks to a failed attempt at shoplifting. From there she forced into school agian. Via the Xaiver's Institute. Her parting words to Alysse were "Get out of my house, and don't return you monster."

Alysse generally kept to herself. Shunning other people due to her fear of being a monster. She doesn't go out of her way to be kind, but has been kind to those she'd come across. Never going out of her way to be cruel. But more along the lines of the silent watcher about the place. Preferring the form of a raven or a cat over her actual human form.
