Actually no, what do you mean?
You've surely heard of the Republican control over the house, senate, and Presidency. That's the main legislative bodies in the nation, plus the executive branch; Trump also gets to select judges for the SCOTUS (and is doing a splendid job of it, I might add) -- meaning Democrats are basically entirely powerless on the national level. It's a real rout. But it gets worse, because as poorly as they did in the national elections, they've done even worse in state and local elections. It's the biggest defeat in a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. And it goes on -- special elections have been cropping up here and there for various reasons, and the GOP is winning all of those too (notably, the recent Montana election during which the republican nominee physically fought with a CNN reporter just a day or two before the vote -- and in the next 24 hours raised over $100k in support). Basically, the democrats are losing on all fronts. So the joke is, if they want to pass something, they should try as hard as they possibly can to vote AGAINST it, and the GOP will take the bait and vote in favor purely out of spite.
