Modlen watched her classmate walk away, sword in hand, and thought about what he had said. Was she really here to become a hero? She had always thought she was receiving training to better understand and control her powers. Sure, she'd always thought of how she could help others, that she'd be more accepted as a hero, but she always thought of such notions as fanciful daydreaming. Add on top of that the revelation of her parentage and... Well, people would be more likely to think of her as the antichrist before they thought of her as a hero. Nevertheless, she was here now. This was a class, albeit an unconventional one, which meant she was being graded. With that in mind, Modlen scanned the area like she would scan the questions on a quiz before answering, looking for the simplest problem to solve first before moving on to the more difficult ones. There was plenty of blood to be found, that much was certain. The VR sim was unapologetic in its detail of gore, injuries and bodies, but Modlen found it disturbingly simple to detach herself when she realised it was all a glorified game masquerading as a test. She had no idea how realistic the looters would be though. Could she feel pain here? She'd rather not find out just yet. So that ruled out combat. She could try to fashion armor out of the blood, but she hadn't quite gotten then hang of it yet. The form-fitting shapes were just beyond her skills right now and a club or bat were much less complex. That just left support, which she could do. Because where there were bodies, there were flies. The smoke might cause some trouble, but Modlen was certain that with enough concentration, they'd ignome their baser instincts. Focusing intently, Moddy closed her eyes. Throughout the area, over the sounds of panic and conflict, a slight buzzing could be heard, growing louder and louder until a dark cloud began to form. Thousands upon thousands of buzzing flies descended on the scene, specifically targeting the eyes, ears, nostrils and mouths of looters and combatants. Unfortunately, since Modlen was new to the class, she couldn't correctly identify her other classmates in order to exclude them from the onslaught, hindering their efforts to provide aid while also helping to provide them with cover.
