Hanging up, Ele texted the bodyguard and went back to work cleaning up and doing dishes until later in the night. She didn't feel like sleeping, and the idea that her phone would ring any moment kept Ele on edge. 

Around three in the morning, Ele finally fell asleep on her couch with the TV on.
