"Ruby Lake"
Location: Library
Convincing her parents to let her go hadn't been easy. Yet, because Kosei Academy was such a new location its reputation had neither been tarnished nor approved of. The people behind it seemed to have a good reputation, yet eventually, her parents had let her attend to get her to be silent about the matter. Ruby was not allowed to use her family name there unless she came back a smashing success, and her father had warned her that she better come back with good results to not waste time and effort on something pointless, especially not after they had allowed her to attend. However Ruby had gotten the vibe that they were expecting her to come back home crying before the week ended. Ruby guessed that arriving by chopper weren't the stealthiest way to seem disconnected from a rich family, but at least all routes seemed to eventually lead to a train that everyone would ride no matter where they came from giving her at least a chance to slip into the crowd and not seem that special even with her rather unique appearance. Ruby felt nervous, her hands felt shaky and she had to occasionally take deep breaths to calm her beating heart. She also felt excited, and could hardly sit still on the train. Soon she would arrive at another new location where she had not been before. And there she was supposed to stay until she came ou a full-fledged hero. It may not be a dream come true, but it was a big step on the way of making a name for herself in the world. Ruby Lake, that was what they would call her, the Dragon girl who saves the world. The rest of the trip passed almost in a blur, and once the train came to a halt Ruby proceeded to follow the others after her bags was taken care off. Ruby felt quite happy that her bags was handled by someone, she hardly knew what her servants back home had packed for her but it was way more than what Ruby thought she would need. She followed the other students and listened to the speech at the opening ceremony before proceeding inside at her own pace while taking care not to be run down by the hasty ones. Once past the gates, Ruby found an open area where she could stretch her wings and take flight. She used her flying ability to gain a vantage point and looked around from the top of the training center. The wind up on the roof was calming and fresh, and the breeze much stronger. Tired from even the short flight to the roof, Ruby sat down and looked towards the library. Perhaps she could go for a read, a peaceful place to spend some time. Yet it was in a rested state of mind she suddenly snapped awake from a howl that came from inside the building, it made her jump a bit and wonder what manner of creature could produce such a noise. Yet fright rather than curiosity took hold of her and she quickly left the roof of the building to glide away from it. She headed further north and towards a large building near the main one. Landing securely, Ruby walked up to the building and looked around before taking a moment to calm herself. When she felt relaxed enough she headed inside, discovering that this building was, in fact, the library. Amazement struck her as Ruby's vision filled with literature from all over the world, rowed up neatly in bookcases taller than the ones she had at home and more of them than what she could count. The scent of a new building, new books, and floor polish filled her every sense. Ruby took a while to just take in her surroundings then once she felt ready she started walking around to explore the deeper parts of the library. She sank down peacefully in a seat and let a nearby book fill her attention. She examined it closely before flipping through the pages, then she smiled to herself as she guessed that a person could spend all their life here and not manage to read all the books in here. She sighed as she read a few pages and just took it easy while thinking of her next course of action.
