There was a flicker of movement from the hallway he had entered from. The gleaming radiance of the sphere outside was flickering for the moment before suddenly the external source of light was blotted out by something. The hard stare at the doorway continued as nothing happened for the moment. The silence of the tomb was deafening in his own ears, the level of discomfort that was attributed to such deprivation was shaken off swiftly as his focus remained sharp. Seconds passed when suddenly movement caught his attention. It wasn’t necessarily movement however; the large mass of pitch surged forward almost violently as if reaching out to engulf his form. Mitsu, however, was not a skittish man. Such random occurrences were common place in his line of work – expect the unexpected he’d say. Before the mass ceased its approach a short distance away. His enhanced vision shifted around the mass trying to discern it’s makeup to no avail. A grin crossed his lip as he continued to study what was occurring before him. Its wisp like nature caused it to swell and shrink, an interesting visual if one had time to appreciate such things, and while the fallen pillar before him did obscure some of its form, it’s telltale presence was still recognized by its random flaring. Another ping of his bio-electricity expanded outward and – as it searched the mass – It found nothing, a curious situation. There was no real telling what the cause of said lack of bio-electricity, but regardless it could be an effect that was thanks to the strange black mass before him. Though, that never stopped Mazono before and it wasn’t going to now. The grin etched upon his features widened further in a very unnerving way. Well, there’s only one thing to do! A hum filled the air around him as energy gathered internally. A flash of blinding light lit the darkened room for a split second as 500,000 watts* of electricity flew forward at blinding speed, originating from the smiling face of Mitsu. The electrically charged line of energy flew forward with the intention to collide with the mass of black, attempting to punch through at hit the dark mist and reveal whatever was behind its obscuring form; if anything at all. Its surging power normally more than a match for most strange occurrences would bring its searing heat and charge to bear upon the strange haze. The sound of twisted leather would be audible in the room as the now dirtied white suit pants bulged out in a fashion similar to a body builder flexing. The golden sparks of electricity flowing beneath the surface of his twin orbs continued to enhance his view of what was before him. Additionally, the large mass of sand at his feet continued to propagate more and more as seconds passed. Ratifier still held at firing position in his left hand, Mazono watched with patience at the reaction the fog would have at his attack, hoping it would dispel or burn away the anomaly with the intense heat generated from his lightning bolt. A surge of energy poured out of him as the barely visible defensive field constantly erected around his form was expanded outward an additional twenty feet – offering a larger field of protection than normal and causing the air before him to undulate due to the intense heat generated by its electrical properties. Time would tell if his decision to strike was a wise one. For now, Mazono merely watched and prepared himself for what was to come. ooc: *500,000w/100v equates to 5,000 Amps.
