For those interested in seeing how an Ascot/Jake fight would go, here's this strictly Non-Canon battle:
Non Canon Battles, 2! Ascot was in the sandlot again, but, this time, the enemy wasn't Satoko, but Jake. The boy recognized that this was one of his dreams, his subconcious reacting to his loss to the young woman by trying to boost his confidence and allow him to practice inwardly. However, the boy didn't know whether it will work... Jake spun his keyaxe in his hand, stepping up slowly to Ascot, sizing the boy up before assuming a combat position. He tightened his grip on Kaiser Leo, and stood there, silently. Ascot also did what he had forgotten to do with Satoko, closely observe Jake. The man was obviously strong and well-trained, and his weapon, his weapon was clearly heavy - in designation, not in weight due to the powers of the Keyblade. He had the look of someone who would hit hard, and hit well. Making the first move, the boy then ran in zig-zags towards the man, then rolled towards his left, slashing downward on the man's leg with surpassing swiftness. Jake followed the boy with his eyes, shifting his stance to counter the attack. When the boy struck Jake countered the blow with a rising Rolling Block, completing the defensive blow with an offensive one, the axe completing its revolution and heading right for the boy's torso. Imagine every step you take as the third point of a triangle, Ascot thought as he stepped backwards with an agility born of youth, seemingly vanishing just as the blow began to inch towards his chest. Taking note of his lost reach, the boy went forward again, dashing towards Jake's right and then making a high jump, sword slashing downwards in a gravity-enhanced blow. Jake looked up to see Ascot's shadow bearing down on him. He raised his axe to take the point of the sword in one of the curves, then sidestepped to bring the sword down into the ground, trapping the boy's keyblade under his own. He punished Ascot for the all-or nothing strike by slamming a roundhouse kick into the boy's back. Except that Ascot, in reaction to the attempt to trap his Keyblade-Sword, let go of the blade, then turned around, while at the same time ducking, barely evading the roundhouse kick. Then, the boy spun again, but this time, his leg thrust out like a cone snail's point, the spin lending the kick additional force. Jake was toppled by the strike, but spun in midair, planting his hands on the ground. He tilted over, then performed a rolling dodge, landing back on his feet, axe once again in hand. He shifted his position once more, getting ready for his adversary. Ascot had his Keyblade once again, and was now rushing at Jake, keeping his head low. He aimed a lunge for the man's midsection, but that turned out to be a feint; the true objective was the warrior's chin. Jake held still, ready to counter the blow, knees bending, arms ready. However, there was something off about Ascot's posture, and Jake moved to loosen up his stance in case something happened. If that was the case, then Ascot would hit the man's chin, then follow it up with two whiplike strikes to the warrior's shoulders, which would be followed up by more whiplike strikes. Jake blocked the the sword's swing, and then resorted to parrying the sword attacks with his axe. Jake countered the flurry of attacks by spinning his axe like a propeller, then countered with a series of quick counterstrikes aiming for Ascot's knees, shoulders, wrist and hip, with the occasional switching of the axe to his other hand to throw Ascot off-guard. Ascot tried to dodge the counterstrikes, he really did, but he had to begin parrying some of the blows, and on two occasions, was hit, though it certainly wasn't his idea. Each hit was gravely painful, reminding him why he had to dodge, and the boy found himself dashing towards Jake's left, then rolling until he was behind the man's back, or the warrior turned around, during which he would respond with his usual flurry of blows. Jake dropped on all fours and tried to give Ascot a solid mule kick to the stomach. He then rolled forwards and spun around to face Ascot again. Ascot blocked the blow with his Keyblade, holding it in two hands to prevent the blade being forced back to his face; it barely reached his nose. When Jake spun around, the boy went on the offensive, launching short, swift attacks towards the man's shin, legs, and knees. Jake grunted as several of the hits cause light gashes in his legs, forcing him back and causing his footing to get shaky. He countered with a power blow that hammered Ascot's sword, attacking repeatedly as he forced the young man back with the force of the strikes. He then switched to attacking with one hand, while the other was curled into a fist, cocked back. Ascot was knocked back, but then managed to dodge a couple of strikes, before parrying the third, then taking the opportunity to counterattack at Jake's curled fist. There was a bright flash, and instead of attacking a bare fist, Ascot found himself himself trying to gain leverage against a silver axe that was the copy of Kaiser Leo, but with silver and gunmetal grey colors instead. Furthermore, Jake seemed to be ambidextrous, meaning that while one hand was blocking, the other hand was moving in to strike with a the other axe. Jake smacked Ascot with the flat of the golden axe, knocking him quite a distance. He then twirled his axes and moved in at a half-charge, closing the distance. Jake's second Key-axe came as a surprise, and Ascot was knocked back. As Jake closed in, the boy prepared a last minute dodge towards the man's right - dashing to his left would have been just as futile considering the fighter's ambidexterity, and at least a dash to his right would be unexpected. The boy would then attempt a thrust to Jake's chin that would roll away into a strike to his right shoulder. Jake countered the strike to his right with a parry with the golden axe. He ducked the chin blow and swept the boy's legs out from under him. This time, Ascot tried to imitate Jake by spinning in midair, planting his hands on the ground, and then kicking outwards with his two legs at Jake's stomach. Jake grunted, and braced himself a tad too late. It prevented him from buckling under the blow, but it meant he was off balance for a bit. He tried to counter by stiffing his posture and trying to recover. Ascot was not going to let him. Now up on the ground again, he aimed a flurry of whip-like blows everywhere, starting from Jake's midsection, to his shoulders, to his knees and finally to his shins. Jake tried blocking the strikes, using both axes to cover a wider area compared to the smaller boy. In response, Ascot tried feinting at the man's right knee, only to turn his strike to the fighter's left hip. ((Fight ends))
