The deal was that, with every step she'd take, Thalia would feel as though she was walking on razor blades for the rest her life, and her voice would be stripped from her. However, because her life ended prematurely, the curse carried onto her only daughter. Now Mortimer carries the burden of her mother's mistake, only ever traveling by wheelchair and lacking a voice. Personality: Mortimer is a very morbid girl for her age, or for any age really. And really, it's hard to blame her, given everything that's happened in her life. Having to pay the price for something that she never did, having her mother throw herself into the ocean at such a young age, having to be primed for a role you don't want to play? It's all very much for a little girl, and it has thoroughly damaged her. She's got a certain knack for bringing sadness. There are very few in the world that can dampen someone's mood with an entire book as much as Mortimer can with a single sentence. However, Mortimer's own sadness is more stony and distant. Her face can usually be described as emotionless. Hobbies: -Gazing wistfully out at the ocean -Wasting away -Reading -Fiction -Listening to music Anything else you would like to add?: -She communicates via a notebook. -She has the strange ability to manipulate water.
