She dashed inside the house, softly closing the door behind them, but a creak from the hinges couldn't be avoided. The officer froze, shining a flashlight on the door, as he frowned and then glanced over at his radio. "This is Officer Vichi, gonna go check out the Royer House, think I heard something," the officer said gruffly into the radio. He then pulled his gun out from his holster and began to approach the old abandoned home. October, meanwhile, had followed her friend over to the fireplace. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the runic inscriptions, running her hands over the box. She had seen similar symbols before, but on the pages of a book. The only problem was, of course, the girl had read countless of books at her uncle's home. She had read countless bits and pieces of lore. She couldn't remember or identify the meanings of the box, nor the ring inside of it. "Curious..." October murmured, before engulfing the box with flames. The flames in her hand turned blue and then white, as she increased the heat and the power, but it did nothing. The box and the ring were unmarred, as if nothing at all had come to pass. "I do not know these markings," she then whispered, hearing the door to the home swing open as the officer entered. "But this is very strange..." October stared at the box, frowning deeply. "I think we should keep this."
