[sub]FULL NAME[/sub]

Todd Balgaire Buchanan
[sub]SUPER NAME[/sub]

The Red Fox
[sub]REVENGE OR JUSTICE[/sub]

Justice
[sub]AGE[/sub]

34
[sub]GENDER[/sub]

Male
[sub]REPUTATION[/sub]

Within the world of boxing, the name, Todd "The Red Fox" Buchanan, is not an unfamiliar one. In fact Todd has gone as far as to defend his WBC lightweight title twice. Though even as he was recorded to be undefeated, the Red Fox retired and left boxing after his older brother, Bruce "Roar" Buchanan died in the ring while trying to defend his WBC heavyweight championship. Soon after his brother's death, Todd's father then committed suicide due the guilt of getting his oldest son into the sport. Todd then fell under clinical depression. Though after a year of therapy and medication, Todd grew stubborn to thought of taking his own life. He concluded that at least Bruce would never want him to resort to suicide because of his death in the ring. However, Todd was not going to give life a second chance just to return back to the ring, not in front of all those people, not when all he thinks of is Bruce. So, what else does Todd have to live for? That is when he discovered news of the Hybrid Humans, with the US government now opening this year's project to healthy civilian volunteers. One healthy civilian volunteer, injected with needles to ensure that other healthy civilians, just like him, can live to breathe liberated from evil.
[sub]HEIGHT[/sub]

5'4
[sub]WEIGHT[/sub]

135 lbs
[sub]APPEARANCE[/sub]

Perhaps unlike the others, Todd looks distinctly human. No fur, no whiskers, no tail, from face value, no one could recognize him as a mutant. But that is the point, especially when going undercover. Todd's physique is as perfect as you would expect from any former lightweight champion. His pale flesh is both toned with muscle, and bare from body hair, since most boxers shave body hair to reduce being weighed down by extra sweat, and to reduce skin friction to promote glancing punches. However, Todd continues to keep the red beard trimmed neatly below the messy locks of red hair above his eyebrows. His eyes are a dark, mud brown, nothing special. As for what he wears, Todd is known to change his clothes quite often in one day. For someone who specializes in undercover missions, Todd never feels comfortable in one outfit for too long. And the frequent changes do help in speeding up the process of transforming into different clothes. During training he could be seen in his athletic wear- crimson workout shorts and a black tank-top. But other than that Todd can be seen wearing a whole range of attires, whether that be a suit and tie or a t-shirt and jeans.
[sub]POSITIVE TRAITS[/sub]

Playful/Jovial- Because of Todd's sense of humor, he is a very likable guy. Even before Maximation and the Hybrid Humans, the lightweight champion would make guest appearances on talk shows, which gave him the public-image of being an easy-going, cheerful guy. Besides, he cannot help but poke fun at the overly serious.
Loyal- To those that trust him, Todd uses his words most careful, being sure that he does not manipulate them. Todd will admit that he is a liar, but a liar with a conscience and a heart. He tends align himself with only the people that he undoubtedly can trust, mainly due to his powers that allow him to know exactly when someone is lying to him. You only have to worry about Todd being two-faced if you are his enemy.
Curious- His curiosity mixes in with his excitement to find adventure. After all, he is a Hybrid Human, he could have easily found some other way to get over the loss of his brother other than committing to become a government-owned superhero. But the fascination and intrigue of mutations being the norm for even the everyday man, compelled Todd do something quite extraordinary in his life. But even with people, Todd can be both a talker and listen, because he genuinely enjoys learning about others.

[sub]NEGATIVE TRAITS[/sub]

Cocky- The continual joking may not pester others, but perhaps it is the excessive of confidence that brings annoyance to Todd's character. He use to be a boxer, there is a lot of bragging in that field. But even his boasts can be a bit charming.
Cunning/Deceitful- He's sly, but can even be shrewd. Sometimes, Todd walks a fine line between hero and villain. The Red Fox may have good intentions, but the means to achieve even a selfless outcome, may take the act of being quite deceptive. He will lie and use tricks to counter the situation in being towards the favor of justice. But he refuses to kill anyone, remember he is the thief, not an assassin. If anyone needs someone to break into a place and steal something, that is Todd's job. Want someone dead? Find a hit-man.
Grieving- The jokes, the humor are spouted even after the two greatest and closest men in his life died. Remember that Todd fell under clinical depression after the death of his father and brother. It is not a lie to say that Todd's humor is a defensive posture against depression. Being funny is not the same as being happy.

[sub]QUIRKS[/sub]

Sleep Mask- Because Todd has the power of night vision, his eyes are very sensitive to adapting to light. Thus, he always has this slight fear that someone will flip on the lights while he is sleeping. Thus, Todd sleeps with a sleep mask every night. But not just any sleep mask, he begged Maximation specifically to get him a fox sleep mask. It seems his request was fulfilled.
Swiper, No Swiping-What's a better way to practice his pick-pocketing than to swipe a couple trinkets off of his very own teammates, of course he gives the things back immediately after he steals it off of them. He's almost always successful, almost.
Surprise!- Another form of "practice" that Todd engages in is sneaking up on people, especially those with 360 vision or enhanced hearing, since they have the greatest advantage to catch him. You see, the Red Fox wants to even trick those intended to spot rogues like him lurking in the shadows.
Terms of Endearment- Todd never calls Naeemah by her first name, unless they are in some kind of argument, which is quite rare. Instead, he uses various terms of endearment to address her. They always change too, since Todd feels like there are many ways to describe her. An example of some of the nicknames he has for her are: my little-viper, gum-drop, sexiness, Cleopatra, and so on.

[sub]ANIMAL[/sub]

Red Fox
[sub]POWERS[/sub]

Enhanced Smell- Need to track someone down? Go to the Red Fox. His nose can detect specific persons, objects, substances or even places, locate their origin. Todd is even able to detect lying, sicknesses, or tumors by which hormones a target excretes. When one the Hybrid Humans was falling ill, Todd suspected a tumor purely through smell, though he never said anything to the rest in fear that he could be wrong and only cause mass hysteria. Although, a major downsides of this power is that he is incredibly sensitive to strong odors, a target can mask their smell, or that he needs to know a target's scent firsthand often requiring an object touched by the person to get their scent. Fortunately for Todd, he has memorized all of his teammates' scents.
Enhanced Thievery- Todd is much more elusive than the average thief. He is able to blend in with the shadows, slip into tight spaces, avoid detection from guards, and escape without leaving behind any evidence. Todd is also an expert in pick-pocketing, lock-picking, shadow-blending, and he is a master of disguise.
Night Vision- Todd can see in total darkness, although bright light or flashes can temporally, or even permanently make him go blind. He also takes Todd time for the eyes to re-adapt to regular light. The possible worst thing to do to him is suddenly shining a bright light on him, even if that means flipping on the lights when he is sleeping.
Convinced Inevitability- The Red Fox has a silver tongue. His physiological intuition is a skill that has become so adept to be concerned a superpower. The sly charisma was never injected into Todd, but with the consideration that he has been quite charming in past appearances on television, Maximation believed the best method to take this fox archetype of a superhuman, would be to mold him into this vocally cunning spokesperson. Within his training, Todd also undergoes training from both a physiatrist and a detained con artist. The rest are aware that has been trained to convince other people into actions of his will, and some still accept him even with this ability, while others remain skeptical to anything he says. Although, the main purpose of this power is not to trick and deceive his own teammates, but to know when people are lying to him and to even any violent situation with peaceful rhetoric.
With all of Todd's powers in mind, if the Hybrid Humans ever needed anyone to not only complete a stealth mission, but also to go undercover, the Red Fox is the superhuman to go to.
[sub]WEAKNESSES[/sub]

Created for Stealth- When pinned against other superhumans, Todd was never created for full-frontal attacks. Yes, he was a boxing champion, and that is the only thing that could possibly save him in any charged battle. Other superhumans may have been mutated specifically to fight in bright daylight and no sneak attacks. That is not the Red Fox, fighting without the cover of shadows or the safety of a disguise already puts him at a major disadvantage.
Lightweight- Remember, Todd is created for stealth. He is not completely defenseless, but to any mutant with superhuman-strength, it would be quite a challenge for Todd to take on that opponent, especially in broad daylight with no disguise or tricks to pull.
Traumatized- For the most part, Todd's grief never bleeds, no one would notice that the loss of his brother still sticks inside of his head. However, the one moment in which there is potential risk to watch him fall apart or have a meltdown would be boxing. Even when Todd is practicing with the punching-bag, sometimes he sudden feels like he is there again, watching as Bruce's brain was knocked loose off of his skull. Todd is even hesitant to box with others, in fear that he will use all of the anger and grief of his brother's death against his current opponent.

[sub]CARCINOGENIC QUALITIES[/sub]

Blocked sinuses that do not clear, or sinus pressure
Headaches or pain in the sinus areas
A runny nose
Nosebleeds
Numbness or tingling in his face
Out of all of Todd's four "powers", only two of them have been mutated- night vision and enhanced smell, mutating his nose and eyes. More specifically the carcinogenic qualities of his serum have affected the paranasal sinus and nasal cavity. The paranasal sinuses and the nasal cavity filter and warm the air, and make it moist before it goes into the lungs. The movement of air through the sinuses and other parts of the respiratory system help make sounds for talking. Todd practically has paranasal sinus and nasal cavity cancer. This is a type of head and neck cancer, that can obviously interfere with his enhanced sense of smell.
[sub]SURVIVAL RATE[/sub]

Currently Todd is only in stage one of this cancer. In stage one, the tumor has grown only in the tissue lining of the sinus and has not invaded bone. His five-year relative survival rate is 63%, which means he has a 63% chance to live at least five years.
[sub]FEARS[/sub]

Taking Anyone's Life- Though he understand the necessity to vanquish all injustices Todd is no executioner. Even mercy-killing is something that rests quite uneasy to him. The first man Todd saw in a casket was his brother. Since then murder, death, dying, it all disturbs him. Even when Todd knows that he in fact has numbered days, he uses humor to hide behind.
The Ring- He is always hesitant to put on those boxing gloves again and step into the ring against a real opponent, in fear that he could possibly destroy that person just because of all his bottled up rage and grief.
To be the Bad Guy- There is a reason why he joined the Hybrid Humans, to be a hero, no matter how cliche it sounds. The government funding this program may wish to move him like a pawn, but he is willing to even go vigilante despite them. Todd is not looking for revenge even after the cancer he has been injected with, no, because he knows that they signed papers that never guaranteed anything going right. While he is still alive, vengeance will not be his agenda.

[sub]WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE?[/sub]

Where is my super suit!- Todd wants a super suit, all the other mutants are so cool with their wings, fur, whiskers, tails, fins, and scales. Him, he has none of that. Remember Her- It crosses Todd's mind that he may never have the chance to kneel for Naeemah, purposing engagement to her. Neither one of them, may live long enough to wear a wedding ring, but he at least wants a tattoo of a snake coiled around his ring finger in remembrance of her.
[sub]HISTORY[/sub]

Todd Balgaire Buchanan's blood is strong with Scottish heritage. Over the course of the Buchanan family line, boys would follow their fathers footsteps of pursuing a career in boxing. Bearnard 'Ironclad' Buchanan raised his sons Bruce and Todd just as his father raised him, handling all quarrels and arguments through a pair of boxing gloves. From a young age, Todd not only knew how to defend himself, but how to fight off the ones bigger than him. Bruce, his older brother, has always been a bigger kid compared to tiny Todd. Which makes a lot of sense because Bruce later grew up to gain the title of heavyweight champion before dying in the final match of his life. Todd's only family was his brother and father. He never really knew his mother, Bearnard often had many wives come and go, the man was very non-committal when it came to marriage. All of his life Todd grew up believing that he would be just like his father, following his footsteps of being a professional boxer. But then Bearnard killed himself, and Todd didn't know what kind of man he wanted to be anymore. After a year of therapy and medication, Todd fortunately found Project HYBRID. If he was giving life a second chance, he did not wish to go back to the ring. Todd was willing to do something that ten years ago the average civilian could only dream of. Being a real life superhero is quite the thing to be motivated by. Physically, Todd is more than adequate to fulfill the required duties of a Hybrid Humans. Even mentally, he has been holding up well, at least publicly. Alone, sometimes the flashbacks come. Todd hopes that he can find his escape in Project HYBRID.
