So. Aside to watching Baccano!, and keeping this sort of RP idea under wraps until the summer. I was finally pressured by numerous people (whom won't be named) to put this idea out. I'll only put down the basic plot and species in turn. The setting takes place in a sort of psuedo-modern state. Whereas automobiles, weapons, and functionality are sort of dominantly akin to the times of the Roaring Twenties and the Prohibition Era (with the richest having more modern weapons). That aside to the rules, I can't really do things about with a lack of that. Fair warning, this RP is a bit dark and gritty.
First things first, character death will happen: But only if the RPer of the victim accepts it (unless of course, the odds seem so highly stacked against them, which surrendering is an option.). Being in a Mafia family/crime gang/police or whatever isn't required. Your character can be a bystander or normal citizen. If you think you can handle it, you can create multiple characters. Don't overstep your boundaries, however. Any personal disputes are to be brought to the GM (Me), or Co-GMs. Harassment of any kind within the group will not be tolerated. No exceptions. Do not force relationships/ERP without the other player's consent. These rules can be subject to change until the finalization towards if this RP gains enough interest. Rules can also be changed via petition. Your weapons, vehicles, and outfit may depend on what sort of "rank" or financial standing/class your character has. If something is rare to see, don't go off making a faction full of them. Also, take some extreme thought if you're making a Draconian (See races section)

The death of the mayor of the metropolitan area had sewn seeds of chaos within and without. Back then, crime was at somewhat of a relative low safe for the underground. Family names were an urban legend that was ultimately true, as the people hadn't noticed their existence. But without the mayor to rule for a few days, those families had risen in force. Gangs committed their crimes unchecked as surges of membership enlistment had spread throughout. Leaders and their families or gangs had risen from urban legend to living legends in course of a night. Many people being held victim to deaths ordered by the dons, gang kingpins, and simple thugs alike. The police had responded by militarization and informants within the ranks of all but the most well known families, which had usually sniffed out and snuffed out the rats. The Silenziatore family (Otherwise more commonly known as the Colorless Mafia, or Mietitrice as the actual head families name) had risen up in a recent fervor, despite the recent death of Lambard Mietitrice (of natural causes). He is succeeded by his grandson in turn, Sylvester Lanston Silenziatore. Sylvester, as of turn, took the Mafia family name than his biological family's name, in defiance to his grandfather. The Silenziatore family used to run major gambling operations. Although their major, more vile crimes included slavery and trafficking of the subhuman races. This ran from simple kidnapping and extortion, to sex slavery and brainwashing. Sylvester condemned the practices of such acts, and kept to being a hitman and enforcer within the Silenziatores up until his grandfather's death. Those who wanted to keep into the business often broke off, some being killed by Silenziatore associates or made men the next day, often found with rather large holes inside of their chest cavity or cranium. It's since around then that the Colorless Mafia had since then laid low within the city, somewhat dormant, implying that business is good. It's with the recent dismissal of the viler crimes that has lead in some instances, for the law enforcement to go on the Silenziatores a bit more softer. Of course, this doesn't mean that they'd get away with murder if seen or proven. Most of them tend to be in restaurants used in fronts, or lavish business centers which serve as a head of operations downtown. Of course, this keeps them from sending any illicit goods (be it illegally sold alcohol, tobacco, or gunrunning) to overextending their reach easily. People into the prospect of subhuman trafficking usually get top dollar for attractive, mature and obedient women. And sometimes even men as well. Lagotyr and Feliceae are often prime targets of kidnappings and sex slavery within the city. Most captured are usually bred (oft against their will) until the fighting and defiance is put out of them. This meant that sometimes, entire families were put under prospect of this vile trade. Some of the born are unaware and of course, educated and manipulated into thinking the idea itself was something as natural as life. The more exotic the subhuman, the higher the price is to the top bidder. To make matters worse is that prejudice against non-human species are rather common, so this sort of situation is often overlooked. The Silenziatores (at least Sylvester's supporters which includes most of the family now) openly condemn the trade, and would sabotage most attempts of the deals and pens should they learn about them. The Silenziatore family is regarded as the most well-known Mafia family aside to other unspoken names (decided by you, the RPers if it has the chance). Although Street Gangs and other organizations have also been into a sort of rise too. Including one led by a man named Jin. Jin's family owns the largest industrial factory in the metropolitan area, and it's used as a front for gunrunning and illicit supplies. The other factories are in collaboration for the legal part of the work, although in reality the leaders are appointed higher-ups by Jin himself. The police so far haven't been able to find links between Jin's legal work, and illegal work. As he launders the money through logbooks of the actual factory. Of course, the metropolitan area is filled with more than just big names and groups. It could include smaller names and groups that have yet to become big..

More than just humans roam the city. Although the "Sub Humans" often face prejudice with who they are...half-human and half-others are normally considered abominations by some. Humans - Commonly known as the dominant race, Homo Sapiens, or commonly regarded as the Humans, are a widespread species that have so many cultures to count, and with the recent change of history, this might've caused a schism in how humans are, not only in race, but potentially splitting the group of what they are into multiple "splinters", potentially these "splinters" could be something other than human, but act so much alike, and not only that, have the same sort of organs and blood as humans, that they could never really be called anything else. Humans are what started the civilization of the world, whether or not with help of the other races present on the world, it's always stood that any civilization had initially been started by the humans, but for better or worse, is always a question. As Humans even fight amongst themselves. Lagotyr - More so recognized as 'rabbit people', Lagotyr possess incredible hearing, making them excellent scouts, although not so much trackers. Aside to that, they're known to perform better feats of acrobatics compared to human capability, although aren't considered as strong, safe for their legs.. Lagotyr have two variants, that of the Sun, and that of the Shadow, both variants do nothing to impact alignment or faction, but impacts more so appearance. Sun Lagotyr possess a slightly younger appearance compared to their Shadow/Moon cousins. Sun Lagotyr possess a more youthful appearance, even when in their twenties to thirties, and, consequentially, look a bit more like children. Aside to that, they're rather light-hearted and trickster like in nature, pulling pranks and setting small, usually harmless traps on travelers, although there have been cases of some malicious work in the form of harmful traps, done by Sun Lagotyr as well. These Lagotyr are more active during the day, as they are compared to the night, and normally function like normal humans do in terms of active awake time. Sun Lagotyr usually have bright-colored, natural fur, that also goes with their hair, although as with any race, there are accounts of this fur and hair being dyed. Sometimes referred to as Moon Lagotyr, Shadow Lagotyr are more so named for being the more matured variants of Lagotyr, and due to their nocturnal behavior, likely have an impact on the nightlife of the cities. Shadow Lagotyr are slightly serious compared to those of the sun, but can be fairly charismatic and skilled at cajoling and flattery compared to their brethren. They shown signs of maturity upon age fifteen. Although never enter nightlife until age twenty. They avoid raves due to their sensitive ears, however, but this is of a usual thought. Shadow Lagotyr are often distinguished from Sun Lagotyr via having natural fur/hair color that would be unnatural compared to their Sun cousins. Shadow Lagotyr tend to best deal as informants, magic users, and above all, due to their natural charisma, spies. Canisrir/Fenrisrir - Sometimes called the 'Wolven', Canisrir are dog/wolf people, depending on what they are, they could be a tribe, or a civilized group, although regardless, they are always mostly known for their loyalty and intelligence. Canisrir come in a bit of a multitude of different cultures, some are lifelong protectors. Others could even be cunning and a little bit traitorous. Regardless, if you're sure a Canisrir is on your side, and he or she makes it clear, you'll be glad that he or she is. The Tengu are of their own faction. LaughingEdit The Laughing Canisrir, often found in harsh desert landscapes are a form of Canisrir that are often found within tribes, which use different types of laughing to communicate with the rest of their group. They are often found in shades of brown, as well as black spots, although there are rumors that some are seen in coats of black or grey, roaming about ancient temples and burial sites. The black and grey are also grouped into the section, as they're also thought to be Laughing Canisrir. A Laughing Canisrir however, is not to be considered unintelligent due to their tribal upbringing, as they still have made articles of power and weapons of their own that have yet to be discovered still, and that it's best to not have a angry tribe after you for something stupid you've done. Pack Canisrir are often associated with a large family.. they often work in tandem, to near hivemind states. A group of Pack Canisrir has a sort of mutual understanding of each member, and can make coordinated takedowns and thoughts. This also leads to diplomacy being rather easy (but not always) between them. They respect leadership, and the leader usually has a whole group of them at his beck and call. Pack Canisrir are often too attentive to anything, however. Some might be distracted even in the heat of battle, too. They appear more feral than the Prowlers and Laughing Canisrir both, usually using savage tactics on occasion when it comes to close combat. Prowler Canisrir are commonly mistaken for (and called) Kitsunes, although all they have is one tail.. Prowlers aside to their Guard cousins (which would be comparable to dog people that have traits of domestic dogs) are commonly encountered in everyday life and in the city, usually serving as a fitting job of either criminals (for the Prowlers), and, true to their name, security guards. Aside to that, like their Pack cousins, Prowlers and Guards make for excellent soldiers and trackers. Guards are also occasion, pets of humans. Feliceae - The Feliceae are a race of Cat-like humanoids, it's commonly thought that the Feliceae won't get along with the Canisrir, although there are accounts of the two getting along on the occasion. They are commonly known for aside to having greater sight during nightime, for having slit pupils for their eyes, as well as great reflexes and aerodynamic behavior. They make for excellent hunters on their own, compared to the Canisrir, who often use pack tactics. Big Cat variants of the Feliceae, Stalkers are well renowned for their (usual) natural talent of stealth, and have a penchant for sneaking up on people whether for predatory reasons or play. This in turn makes them excellent assassins or scouts, but it also makes them seem like a ghost within the party, you feel as someone's there, but you're not quite sure. The Stalker subline of this race is well renowned for also, hunting instincts. While not excellent trackers persay, they make up for ferocity and a tracked mind that keeps ticking and thinking, instead. Watch your back when within the plains or the jungle, you never know if a Stalker with a more feral mind could be right behind you, wishing for a bit of a meal. Often recognized as companions, these are generally regarded as pets for humans, though whether or not the human treats them as another person or just a pet. Regardless, the House variant of Feliceae has proven, much like the Guard Canisrir, to be part of everyday life, sometimes as their own being part of the workforce. Aside to that, house Feliceae are efficient at keeping pests out of the house, no matter what kind of pest it would be. Although this brings a danger to venomous insects, snakes, and other beings, which could sicken or endanger the House Feliceae. Sadly, as with any pet-like being, the House Feliceae could possibly be sold, as with anyone, into slavery, as well as the blurred line between 'pet' and 'slave'. Miscellaneous, rarer forms of people have been spotted..such as highly super rare dragon-like Draconians. Or the technological Synthetic androids, and Mechforged.
