Name: Kimberly Haynes Age: 33 Appearance: Nationality: American Personality: For the most part, Kimberly is a calm and compassionate person, difficult to anger. She does her best to remain positive and level-headed even in difficult situations, thinking things through. Unless somebody close to her is in danger. This brings out a different side to her, a passionately protective side that will go to extreme lengths to keep them from harm. In this case, she'll act without thinking, whatever the consequences may be. Background & Death: Growing up by the sea in California, Kimberly had a love of the outdoors from early childhood. Much of her free time would be spent swimming or going for long walks. There was nothing quite like the feeling of sea breeze and sun on her face, or the smell of salt in the air. She remained by the ocean into adulthood, co-running a small bed-and-breakfast with her husband Matthew, and raising her daughter Amy to enjoy the outdoors just as much as she did. Work and family brought their fair share of challenges, but overall, life was pretty good. Then, one day, everything changed in an instant. While playing with her as the water lapped around their feet, one slip was all it took for the six-year-old Amy to hit her head on the rocks and get swept out. Reacting instinctively, Kimberly swam out, grabbing hold of her, thrashing to struggle free from the current. She managed to get the dazed yet conscious child to hold onto a rock, but doing so took the last of her strength. All she could do was listen to her daughter's cries, which became more and more distant. The beach disappeared from sight, replaced by murky water which dragged her deeper by the second, away from her family and the life she'd known. Name: Cetus Represents: Fierce protectiveness of another, lack of regard for one's own life Appearance: Personality: As protective as he is destructive, this sea monster is unwaveringly loyal to Kimberly, yet disheartening. While he sticks by her side at all times, he constantly tells her that both of them are worthless, expendable for the sake of their only purpose - the hunt. Abilities: Gift of the Self - Kimberly can give a brief, slight boost to the strength, reflexes and physical resilience of an ally, as well as to the abilities of their Memento Mori. However, the longer she does this, the more it weakens her. If she uses this ability for long enough, she'll feel as if she's drowning. While this is in effect, she slowly takes on the appearance of a bloated, rotting corpse, reverting to normal when she stops, although the weakness takes longer to fade. Ocean's Hold - By giving a command to Cetus, she can make it so that the atmosphere around an enemy seems to distort. To them, the air feels as if it's taking on the consistency of water, slowing their movements and breathing for a few moments, numbing them with cold, making them expend more energy than usual.
