The orcs, hobgoblins, kobolds, and bugbears refer to themselves as "men" and "women." This may come as a surprise to veterans of fantasy fiction who are used to these creatures being "other." In Lord of the Rings, for example, orcs jeer and spit at "Man" as if it were the label applied to all humans. The protagonists, in turn, refer to orcs in animalistic nomenclature. The enemies Aragorn slew weren't "men," they were "orcs." When pointing out a nameless orc, they don't say "he" should die, tbey say "it" should die. The inhabitants of Fellmore, however, don't see things that way. They're people too, and refer to themselves with humane nomenclature. Gorman doesn't have an army of orcs; he has an army of men.

Now, there is a caveat to this rule. Fellmorans tend to be pretty racist. An orc describing a hobgoblin may call him an "it," and vice versa. Additionally, those who have lived among humans for a substantial length of time may likewise adopt animalistic terms for their kind. But as a rule, they see themselves as people, and call themselves such.
