In terms of legal matters Malakaus leaves those in responsible hands. But if things are going to get twisted, he knows people who can back him up on it. He's fought on both sides of the law and had to deal with crims in the streets and in the courts. Perhaps too much for a regular law-abiding citizen, but he's certainly not going to let himself take the fall on trumped up charges.
