Well, I need to sleep so I'll stop staring at this and post it for review. To be honest, I don't even know if the Holy Church is a thing in GO, so there's that haha. Little bit edgier than what I usually do, too, but eh. She's quiet and tends to not say too much, but she does say enough to keep conversations going, and very much enjoys being around people. Due to her Origin, she's incredibly loyal to those that appeal to her, and can easily be convinced by such people. That trait of hers was happily used by the Holy Church to turn her into a first-rate Executor, and underneath her surface personality hides much of the damage that comes with such a life. Capable of murder without so much as the blink of an eye, Nanase finds she scares even herself at times. In times of conflict and stress, she acts like more of a machine than a person, her Origin taking over and driving her to do her duty no matter the cost. Certainly a good person at heart, only incredible mental fortitude bolstered by her Origin has allowed her to keep her sanity throughout all the atrocities she's committed in the name of the Church, though there are deep cracks. She's a terribly conflicted individual, believing in the teachings of her religion but uncertain that she's not an evil person simply due to the fact that she does all she does in the name of God, as directed by her superiors. She's an excellent ally, especially to those who realize how completely she can be manipulated. Even to those who don't--or won't--her loyalty and extreme desire to not disappoint makes her good to have around. With her past, it's no surprise that she's more than willing to do any necessary dirty work, and would rather she bear any weight and sin rather than others--after all, it's only a drop in the bucket for her at this point. While she may be considering herself irredeemable, there's no need for anyone else to get to that point if she can help it. Abilities: On the surface, Nanase appears unexceptional. She has no elemental affinity, and as with the majority of members of her birth family, she has an impressive number of magical circuits, but that are individually significantly weaker than average. Her Origin is Faith. It pushes her to have belief and trust in things more easily--from herself, to other people, to religions, and beyond--and as long as she has some sort of faith, she can accomplish feats that would otherwise be impossible for her. It grants her a resolve near impossible to waver, a seemingly mad drive to push herself beyond limits as much as necessary, and causes her magic circuits to convert Mana and Od into magical energy at a much higher rate than they should. She has the incomplete Magic Crest of her birth family, due to the previous owner, her father, being killed before it could fully be passed to her. The loss of the Crest itself wasn't very significant to Nanase personally--with no affinities, she would have been unable to use most of its spells. The portion that had been passed on first were the ones more relevant to her, relating to material transmutation. That sort of magecraft was what was focused on during her upbringing in her adoptive family, and as a result, she's extremely proficient in reinforcement especially, and it is what she uses nearly exclusively in combat. Talented with many kinds of blades, they're often the first target for her reinforcement, with her own body being the second most common. Along with the Mana and mindset given to her by her Origin, and the training and years of experience of an Executor, Nanase can reach near superhuman-like physical capabilities for short bursts of time. While obviously a far cry from Servants, at the least she has yet to meet a demon or magus in combat that could put her down. History: Born into a small-time magi family, Nanase's early life was uninspiring. Between herself and her two siblings, she was by far the most receptive to her father's magecraft-related teachings and as a result, despite having no elemental affinity, was chosen to be his heir. Before much of her father's knowledge could be passed down to her, however, he suddenly began to grow distant. It wasn't clear what was wrong to the young Nanase, but something was obviously off about him whenever she saw him--which was less and less often. It wasn't until it was too late that the family realized that Nanase's father had been possessed by a demon. Executor's of the Church were called in, and hours later, before they had arrived, the slaughter began as her father lost it. The family's estate was quickly turned to little more than burning rubble. If not for the struggle of the man beneath the demon, Nanase would have surely been killed like the rest--but that struggle bought enough time for the Executors to arrive, after which Nanase's father was quickly brought down. Nanase herself can hardly remember what had happened before her father had been killed--the slaughter of her family seemingly naturally removed from her memories to protect herself--but something caused one of the Executors to take interest in her. Fast forward a few days, and the still shocked Nanase had been officially adopted into the Amano family, the Executor that had taken note of her being the head, Hibiki Amano. The family was heavily involved with the Church, so Nanase was brought into the religion quickly. The young girl noted a new compulsion deep within her, and it helped push her to accept the sudden changes in her life. She took to the teachings easily, finding comfort in them. She even came to love Hibiki as a surrogate father. Despite his tough love, and how he almost immediately began grooming her for the life of an Executor, he had saved her life. She would have been nothing if not for him, so she owed it to him to live up to the expectations he began to place on her. Besides, she could recognize that he truly did care for her, in his own way. And because of that, she became all he had hoped for and more. Officially an Executor at the age of fourteen, her unnatural knack for the murder of both demons and heretical humans was readily apparent, as was her convenient, complete obedience to those above her. She did as she was told, taking care of messes the Church wanted to be rid of, and she worked to convince herself that her actions were justified.
